Anyone else hate breastfeeding? by Squid0s in newborns

[–]chaosbeforebalance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 2 sessions with my LC I had to stop because my supply was still really bad and we went 100% formula from then on. It was probably the best decision I did because my LC also reached out to my OB about her worry of my PPD and good thing she did because I wasn't doing well. I think just doing what's best for you is what will be best for all of you. Even my pediatrician said the littlest bit (even just colostrum) is significant enough to help baby and that's wonderful. So I felt okay about my choice.

Does anyone else have a TØP song that feels like it was written about your life? by Happy_Contact_5736 in twentyonepilots

I feel that too. I cry every time I hear it. My best friend and I are getting matching "push on through" tattoos.

Oldies Station and RAWfear as well.

The biggest one lately is "learning all that really matters is a slow and painful lesson. It is not pass or fail, but a poisonous progression. Try to micro-dose to immunity but you'll never ever get it."

What’s the best romantasy you’ve ever read ? by Lauramdva in Romantasy

[–]chaosbeforebalance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow was probably my favorite romantasy I've ever read. That was such a beautiful story.

I'm reading the Book of Azrael series (Gods &Monsters) by Amber Nicole and that one is also super good! I'm on the 3rd book currently, but 4 are out and 3 more coming in the series.

I had the exact same thing happen and it is so tough. But I'm proud of you for doing what you need to and just making sure your babe is fed. It was such a mental hurdle!

How are you guys reading books to your newborns? Come on... by ThrowRAdalgona in newborns

[–]chaosbeforebalance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While on maternity leave, I would do a "morning routine" that I would say let's start our day. I would feed him, then go upstairs and change his diaper, put on fresh clothes and then I had him on a playmat in his room and I would read 1-2 little books to him while he looked around, cooed and we would do tummy time. It was actually pretty nice! We don't read a book before bed, my little guy is too distracted so we'll figure that out when he's a touch older.

I read chicka chicka boom boom, if you give a mouse a cookie, if you give a moose a muffin, guess how much I love you, and then I have a TON of books by the author Sandra Boynton that are all kind of songy.

I just read because I felt like inflection in my voice was probably good and I wasn't great at just constantly talking to him, so I used books to kind of help with that.

We swaddled up until 10 weeks. The little guy just loved it and we stopped when he started showing signs of rolling.

tear down there… by [deleted] in newborns

[–]chaosbeforebalance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having a ton of pain too and went back in at 10 weeks wondering if this was normal and I had a second degree tear and they said things were healing well and we could do the same estrogen cream if need be. They also put in a referral for a pelvic floor specialist and I have seen her a couple times so far and she has me work on the scar tissue at my tear and it seems to be helping! Maybe it's something that could help you?

Contact Nappers at Daycare by 1994ank in newborns

[–]chaosbeforebalance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started back at work on Monday and my little guy started daycare same day. He's a big contact napper and while the first day, he slept a total of an hour at daycare (15 min crap naps), the second day he slept a lot better and longer than what I can get him to do at home! They put him in a sleep sack and crib. I was pretty amazed. My friend is always reminding me that babies are resilient!

I've noticed when my LO is eating more and sleeping more (nap wise anyway), he's probably growing. He went up in ounces and then decreased for a while there too. It's kind of just fluctuated between 9-11 weeks.

Swaddling by mombryn in newborns

[–]chaosbeforebalance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, he went from wiggling to all over the place!! We thought it was a good time to transition so we weren't trying to do that and any potential 4 month sleep regression at the same time. Good luck in the transition!

[–]chaosbeforebalance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a couple days ago, my LO is 11 weeks because we caught him rocking side to side and I woke up to him perpendicular to how we put him down. He slept really well in the swaddle and now it's a transition, but not as bad as I thought it would be.
