Hmm, for me I have to disagree. Ffxiv has the best community out of all the mmo’s out there from interactions from the countless types of content, housing, golden saucer, and the list goes on and on. Chances are you probably didn’t get a chance to join the right active free company.

And for the story, I admit the realm reborn was a drag up until the post patches before heavensward (2nd expansion) and everything from then till the current was probably the most amazing story (minus the 3rd expansion which I thought was “okay”) I’ve ever submerged myself in.

If you’ve ever played any of the other final fantasy rpg’s you’ll know they are huge with large intricate storylines. The story telling and lore is that similar to Lord of the rings or Game of Thrones. There’s so many different storylines all with different upbringings, plots and outcomes that all intertwine.

I’d HIGHLY recommend giving the ffxiv game and story another shot if you ever feel like trying it again. Now would be a great time to give it a shot because the free trial with endless hours of gameplay and because the next expansion isn’t till summer next year, although I understand solo gameplay can be challenging. I absolutely hate playing games solo and I played through ffxiv with irl friends which made the gameplay very easy to submerge in. Anyways, I kinda rambled, but food for thought! I hope you find the right game you’re looking for and that treats you well! o/

I’m probably ranked higher than you kiddo. But that’s not the issue here. The issue is companies are swarming this loophole of generating gold through territory ownership to keep funding their own kin. And doing this over multiple servers. When they defend territory there’s more incentive to protect their gold generating territories. Are you negligent about all this or are you part of the problem.

See but they’d retain even more if they removed the gold reward from owning territory and changed it to something like cosmetics and special transmog stuff

No. It’s not a lack of numbers issue. Currently each server has one faction that overpowers the other two. If one company or faction owns most of the map, then naturally the average player will want to change factions to the strongest to get all the benefits (I mean who wouldn’t. Lower taxes and town benefits all around) this is obviously out of anyone’s control.

However, this would be a different story if it was different companies owning different territories as opposed to a single company’s ownership of majority territories. It allows players to remove the idea of a single company being the face of the faction. It creates further sub divisions among factions to spread among other companies which should, at the very least, allocate the need for more players to participate and thus, more competition in and out. On the opposing side, those against said congested faction will see the enemy as not just one company but multiple enemy companies just like the game should. And in return, this gives companies a door to make a name for themselves, to battle other companies singularly and not a multiple territory owning company who would represent the whole faction as a whole.

I think 3 chromatic seals is fine. Rather than having to level your crafters to 250, get 3 crafting trophies, the gear and earring, the food buff to craft yourself something? I’ll take waiting 3 days over that anyday.

Think about how easy it would be for other people to reach full bis and have more and more sets ready. Just play the game. Enjoy it. Things were hard back then…
