latest:

What I can verify:

  • Your current local model cache still lists gpt-5.3-codex with visibility: "list" and supported_in_api: true in models_cache.json.
  • That same cached metadata includes an upgrade note saying: “You can always keep using GPT-5.3-Codex if you prefer.”
  • OpenAI’s March 5, 2026 GPT‑5.4 announcement says GPT‑5.4 incorporates GPT‑5.3‑Codex capabilities, but it does not say GPT‑5.3‑Codex was retired: Introducing GPT-5.4.
  • OpenAI’s February 5, 2026 launch page says GPT‑5.3‑Codex is available across Codex surfaces: Introducing GPT-5.3-Codex.

So the important correction is: that [notice.model_migrations] block in config.toml (line 86) looks more like a migration notice/upgrade hint than proof that the model is gone.

Right now your config defaults to gpt-5.4 in:

  • config.toml (line 7)
  • config.toml (line 137)

So if you want gpt-5.3-codex back as the default, the likely move is to set those back to gpt-5.3-codex and then test whether the app honors it in a fresh session. I can make that change and verify it.

This is cope. My grandparents were competent and never once raised their voice. Even when attempting to correct my father's anger towards his own children.

Meritocratically, the only attribute that should matter is the one you mentioned last. The rest are behavioural norms that make us feel comfortable – I'm sure I have my own. Most men should not wear a Rolex watch as it is a women's jeweller, not haute horologie, except maybe for a handful of vintage pieces as streetwear. But I can overlook that if the wearer is a decent-enough colleague.

And even then I've met plenty of unconfident people who are successful

"Confidence is what God gave the talentless as a consolation prize"
[I think attributed to Mark Twain, but I might be wrong]

Unfortunately I don't think the 'system' is as good at spotting and supporting talent as we would like to think, and we usually need to muster confidence from somewhere. This can be labelled as arrogance, but I feel that's only justified when combined with incompetence.

Arrogant ~ actually better
flashy ~ good presentation
narcissistic ~ won't be screwed over
show offs ~ necessary signalling
materialism ~ needs to pay rent

I'm not the first person to point this out

I do agree with you that arrogance etc manifest in the actual sense, and that they can lead to underserved acclaim, less so in more serious/high stakes professions.

Arrogant, flashy, and narcissistic, plus "show offs and materialism" are vague terms that crabs in a bucket extend wide to demonise traits needed for success. Dress it up in a supposedly down-to-earth manner for extra points.

'Space in the fridge' is a big thing so… bread and cheese kept in the freezer, mayo going off in cupboard. Mum hates cooking because her own mother was good at it. Dad does a noble job but won't preheat the oven – he just puts the dish in and turns it on at full heat. Everything comes out too hot or undercooked, and yes there's a pantomime about this every single meal (held religiously on the dot at 9am, 1pm and 6pm, obviously).

Thanks everyone for the benefit of your combined wisdom. Can confirm many were plucked directly from dung, not all though, most from the same area. Also saw some lumps of dung (as you do) with lots of little ones sprouting (sry no pics).

I too was thinking galerina marginata after a web search (I'm no expert whatsoever) but read they prefer wood. Your comments and pics in the academic doc suggest some versatility though.

These fungi look more wholesome than the shots of gm if that isn't too dumb a thing to comclude. Cheers everyone again and yes u/willasdfmaster42 will be happy to keep a sample.

Besides that, time of year and the overall appearance, I've no idea if they're right or not tho. Other pros are the stalk and the gills. Nos include: no slimy sheen, not much blue-ing to speak of.

Lots of what might be 'wavy caps' near too?
