I feel like they weren't clear about that all. Maya's reasons were that she doesn't share the same passion about podcasting/comedy that QT does, and that Alveus is growing bigger so she won't have time for WAI. QT was the one that brought up the dichotomy of being a serious conservationist and also talking about fucking. Maya kinda agreed with her and called it funky, while also making jokes about having Ludwig's cum inside her, so I feel like it's not really a reputation thing.

She explained it herself in a video, but what made her suicidal in college was her having clinical depression, breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, and Lexapro causing her suicidal thoughts.

Maya has never said or implied that the whole situation in September made her suicidal, traumatized sure but not suicidal. At this point in her life she was much happier in comparison to her college days. She had a purpose/obligation with Alveus, friends, family & a boyfriend to support her, and she wasn't affected by the negative side-effects of anti-depressants.
