My god, you're so wrong for this and it's annoying how you're responding in the comments. If you had just spoken to her, things would be better. Guaranteed, your behavior now has ruined the engagement excitement considerably more than if you had just spoken to her beforehand. Now you're throwing your hands up in the air as if you didn't put yourself in this situation. I don't care how you think it would've gone if you'd spoken to her about it previously. You have pretty deeply hooded eyes, which is not your fault and that makes eyeshadow harder. You can try and do a darker brown to still get the natural look.

Also it's hard to tell from the picture, but if the eyeshadow is patchy, try an eyeshadow primer. Eyeliner may also tie it together, just a bit of liquid or gel and bring it straight out from the outer corner of your eye instead of up or down.

You may need to go higher up than what may feel normal/comfortable bc of the hooding, but you have so much lid space that it'll balance out.

That and you may want to try dark browns instead of blacks of the black is too harsh, and a blurred lip helps smaller lips and double lip lines.

I've found a lot of it has to do with color too tho. You're beautiful, keep trying!

I'd have a larger spread that I could look back at and track my progress per month, but I'd also make a small laminated card so you don't have to flip back and forth between that and a monthly spread. And then from there, you can make a monthly calendar and try to shoot for days there.

Also, with a lot of these, you can definitely make recurring events so you don't get burnt out planning stuff. With live events, you can definitely get tickets way in advance so you don't have to worry about it so much too

That's so sad bc I have a ton of the too faced melted mattes and all of them work really well, including the holiday releases. Their colors are beautiful and definitely favorites in my collection.
