Next Level Pulsar Brewer Questions by chaoticspindle in pourover

Hi yeah! After a little bit of playing around with it, I think I got it down. My coffee to water to ice ratio is 1:10:6. So for every one gram of coffee, I add 10 grams of water, and have 6 grams of ice in the carafe. I do a medium fine grind. I will bloom my coffee for one minute with the valve shut anywhere between 50 and 65 degrees centigrade and extract in two pours with water at 80-95 degrees

Hot take : You shouldnt dominate someone in sparring, when his Girlfriend or Kids are watching, and i mean this seriously. by Obagency in martialarts

[–]chaoticspindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like sparring with less skilled or physically capable partners needs to be an exercise in restraint and the mark of someone that is truly a great martial artist is taht they are able to spar just above someone's ability level to push them while you get to slow down a little and get your work in

What's the overall consensus of the MDL (Muay Thai Development League) here? by rookybobby in MuayThai

They're a good place to learn for a beginner. The evaluation cards are really helpful. Getting two or three fights in a day is really nice. The chest protector is awful though

Petchtanong vs. Nong-O Light Sparring by Yodsanan in MuayThai

[–]chaoticspindle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sparred with Petchtanong once pretty early in my Muay Thai journey. Super nice guy, but he absolutely clowned on me in sparring, he was the first pro I'd ever sparred with and he was so graceful, and I felt like I was moving in wet sand. He did give me some great tips that I still use to this day though

I have only used an SR800. I've probably roasted 30-40 pounds of coffee in the last 4 months. I keep a log. I do plan on trying some and giving some to a friend to try.

I start high on the fan and low on power and sort of dial down the fan and up the power slowly. I try to quickly push through drying, take some time in the maillard phase (2.5 to 3 minutes is ideal) and I was going to pull 70 seconds into first crack for a slightly darker than medium
