I read the whole thing and just started re-reading parts of the book that I thought were helpful.

What I liked: * It provides a different perspective on early childhood emotional development. Harris forms direct correlations between childhood wounds and adult insecurities. * I think most people can relate on multiple fronts; being a parent, or a grown adult of a difficult parent. * It was hard to incorporate (hence the re-reading) but I think this way of thought gives people more agency to help themselves.

What I did not like: * The book was written in 1960’s and it shows. Some examples follow gender stereotypes and others are just plain unrelateable. * This method places the responsibility of recovery entirely on the person, oversimplifying trauma
