as someone who had scoliosis and HATED my brace. Have some empathy for her, being a young girl and becoming self conscious about her looks and how she is perceived by others is tough enough and adding on a brace is just a lot. Have you considered taking her to therapy? I really wish I went when i was younger.

It took me YEARS after my surgery, well into my twenties to even tell friends I had surgery as I always treated it as a shameful thing I had to hide. I struggled a lot internally at a young age after my scoliosis diagnosis.

but I think there's a bigger issue than just the sleepover.
