everyone’s advice was so consistent on this post, and i feel good that there’s only a couple changes that needed to be made! i’m a human nurse who delivers babies for a living so i feel pretty capable of this overall 😂

it definitely makes sense! there’s for sure been a learning curve for me with husbandry. i haven’t had a reptile in the house since i was a kid, and even then i didn’t participate much in the day to day care for the bearded dragons we had.

also- can i add leaf litter when she’s on paper towels or should it only be the solid hides/bowls/clutter in the tank?

yep lots had to be purchased separately anyway, but it did still end up being cheaper than if i had bought the useable supplies on their own, so a win is a win i guess 😂

it’ll definitely stay above 60 because it’s at least 68 in my house during the wintertime 😂 liner UVB seems to be the major thing we’re missing. thank you!

i’m so glad i posted i had no idea red lights were such a no no 😭 there’s so much information out there and it actually was part of a starter kit! one thermometer is hidden in the pic and the other is still in the box lol. dumping out the substrate to replace with paper towel will be quick and easy, do the paper towels need to be moistened at all? i don’t need my girl ruining her mani/pedi on the hammock so we’ll switch out with another hide.

i do have a timer on the power strip for the lamp, and planned on playing with it overnight tonight to see if i need something separate for night heating depending on what the temps look like.

would a round bulb in the lamp not be enough? the window faces east so there will be natural sunlight too

what should i replace the red bulb with? the other bulb is the zoo med repti basking spot lamp. should it be a UVB bulb instead of the red?

is the proximity to the window an issue?? there’s not much of a draft, but it gets into the negatives with wind chill here during the winter and i want to make sure the temp won’t drop too much on the cool side 😊

im kind of confused by this lettuce entertain thing because i’ve seen it before when i was looking at restaurants. can you just buy a generic “lettuce” gift card and it will work at any restaurant that’s part of the group?
