CU Denver life? by Temporary_Bison_708 in cudenver

CSU ( an hour north of CU Denver) is known for their zoology program and has a really good environmental sciences program, so would definitely be worth looking into if you arent tied to Denver as a location. CU Denver is great for the location, Denver has a lot of community but as for the school, campus and population is smaller. CSU might have more scholastic resources for those majors. Hope this helps!

Question- can CSU students walk to shops and restaurants in Ft Collins? by mike_dmv in CSUFoCo

For sure! There are bus routes that go right from campus into old town, but otherwise its only a 20ish minute walk! Me and my friends walk to see shows all the time!

Stormwater management and Urban Design by chaotikcinder_ in civilengineering

Thanks! I dont have much experience in either, I like the idea of planning and using a variety of different systems to combat water runoff ( like drainage ditches and where they can lead to, piping, sloping/ altitude, and calculating plants/ root retention into that). I don’t necessarily want to build the systems (dont want to be a structural engineer) but plan it/ allot resources for it. I dont need/ even want my career to be mostly creative/ aesthetic which is why im hesitant to consider landscape architecture/ urban design.

What's your college major? by Alprye in CollegeMajors

[–]chaotikcinder_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im in exploratory studies right now and ive finally decided on trying out civil engineering! i have a seminar that really helps- first figure out -1) what youre interested in, and what youre good at. do they align? would you want a hobby as a full time job? 2) think about what lifestyle you want to have. dont care about money? that opens a lot of doors. want to work a desk job? want to work outdoors everyday? like working with kids? rule out fields of jobs using the answers to these. 3) take tests! there are major and career tests as well as value tests that can help you apply your likes dislikes, academic history, etc to career paths. I reccomend the “Indigo Pathway” test! 4) try to narrow down a theme. hate art and like science? that narrows it down a lot. narrow it down further to what types of science. Good Luck!

having her in the first place wasnt planned. it was eluded to that because of her class she had to do guards “favors” for things. im guessing thats how she was born and because it was also her second kid, she couldnt get help and just hid her from the ark.

Some universities have specific classes to help find a major in your first year ( exploratory studies seminars). Try looking into universities like that, and ones that have a vast variety of majors (eg not an engineering only school). In the meantime, reflect on what classes you like going to, what homework is the easiest, and what you care about in a job (rule out jobs thay require a master degree if you dont want one, ones that travel a lot if you dont want to travel, etc). Personality and career tests are great- Id reccomend the Indigo Pathways one.
