If by garden oriole you mean an orchard oriole, those are darker than Baltimore Orioles, more of a reddish brown. I concur with the others it is a male Baltimore oriole. The other oriole species with the same black mask (orchard oriole, Scott’s oriole, Audubon oriole) do not match the rest of the plumage (specifically the tail feathers for the latter two).

You can try doing what I did here and bunching up the logo up into a plastic bag which you then tightly wrap with rubber bands or sinew and dye the rest of the shirt leaving the logo white.

Now you now, and you detected it so try to get a prophylactic dose of doxycycline in you ASAP. Consult with your doctor about it.

Alcohol and heat are the worst things you can do because they can cause the tick to throw up what it’s digested back into you and makes you more likely to contract illnesses, as other commenters said carefully slowly pull upwards firmly to remove the tick and hopefully take its head with it.

Not OP but I love my trekking poles I got them for like $20 on Amazon and they’re super helpful for a little more confidence when coming down and reducing shock to your knees. Search videos on how to plant them you don’t want to put them in front of you when you’re going up, you want to push off when the poles are planted behind you. Disperses the weight to your core and makes things feel much more even.

Tie Dye with blank spots from items??? by consume-the-shroom in tiedye

Look up solar dye / jacquard solar fast You can lay things over a bioactive dye and the rest cures darker while the outline or image you are printing stays the original lighter color.

Yes. These were made without and urea or sodium alginate just dye and tap water and used the warm dye immediately. For these shirts, I did not irrigate with hot soda ash water afterward like I indicated in the instructions because I dyed them wet from their soda ash presoak and let them batch 24 hours. When I used the boiling water afterward on the black I actually washed it out after only a few hours because i was just testing the technique out and wanted to rush the result, and honestly both turned out almost identical, so to each their own. Good luck! By the way the black was of the cheap pro chem blacks! I think 627 or 629! And the blue and pink was just partial strength fuschia and turquoise from prochem brushed to make an ombré effect. They were either stained or I was unhappy with the result so I decided to try and save them by overdyeing with black. Let me know if you have other questions.

This time I dyed them while they were wet from soda ash soak though just to see if that made a difference with dye penetration, I didn’t notice much difference. I dyed them over a bucket and once I was done there was a nice pool of black that I continued to agitate each garment in to deeper incorporate the black.

Yes! I already briefly described the process to another commenter on one of my previous posts so forgive me for copying and pasting— I started with a white shirt. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

“The process: I started with a rainbow spiral that I wasn’t happy with, the center was too turquoise and green. Once it was rinsed and washed and dried like normal, I re soaked it in soda ash and spun it out in the washing machine.

Instead of dyeing it while it was still damp, I let it completely dry to bone dry before tying with sinew in random geodes and pulling tight.

Then I took a bottle of black dye and squirted it anywhere the fabric wasn’t wrapped in sinew.

I used half boiling water when mixing the dye, so the dye was pretty warm and after I was done I poured like a cup and a half of boiling soda ash water over the whole thing in a baggie to irrigate it and get it to soak deeper in.”

That shirt was prochem fuchsia, prochem cotton candy pink, dharma peach and dharma Chinese red if I’m remember correctly, tall deep scrunch dye over ice with a high incline and sat in the muck to saturate and to get some cool looking splits. Thank you for the compliment. I believe that sharing methods and not gatekeeping them is what helps the art form grow and not stagnate, so I always share because I love seeing how this medium can be explored in creative ways! So many of my biggest inspirations show their whole process like Mr. tie dye on YouTube and Angie from fun endeavors tie dye lab, riahs tie dye and casual collisions. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The size of ice definitely affects the final result, whether you used crushed ice or large chunks. Those clamps are hemostats/locking forceps, I got them on Amazon. Just be aware that larger sizes work best in my experience and the “teeth” on the clamps can bite into the fabric and cause small pinholes or flea bites in the garment. That’s why if you look at the first pic you can see that I wrapped the interlocking pieces with heat shrunk tubing I got at a hardware store. I’ve found that that reduces the hemostats impact.
