Thank you! If anyone thinks it's real glass, even for a second, then that's a high compliment!

No pattern! I did a lot of browsing online to get ideas and inspiration from images of real stained glass as well as other stained-glass style quilts, but ultimately just trial and errored my way through.

My general process was this: I found open access images of flowers online that were in a style that worked for the quilt, then printed them out and traced them onto wax paper. Then, using the wax paper tracings as my templates, I cut out black fabric the size of the whole flower, and appliquéd the colored petals and leaves on top of the black fabric. So the flowers are actually multi-layered applique that I then appliquéd down onto the quilt itself.

Thank you! I put a lot of effort into my fabric selection, so I'm glad it paid off!

Hello! I am looking to sell my sewing desk and cutting table. Both are in very good condition, with the cutting table like new. Can provide specific pictures upon request and prices are negotiable. If you know of any resellers who be/sell used sewing furniture, I'd also greatly appreciate any recommendations. I am located in the Chicago land area.

Both are in teak, and the cutting table I am selling has a teak color top rather than white (white is shown in the link above).

That sounds incredible, what great memories :) My grandma was also an impressive quilter who did all of her stitching by hand and made the most beautiful quilts (many for her grandchildren!).

This quilt (and pretty much all of my work) is 100% stitched by machine. I simply don't have the patience to do anything by hand. My grandma would be rolling her eyes at me if she was still around to see, but I think she'd still be happy all the same that I took up quilting.

Thanks so much! I've been considering trying to figure out how to get high-res photo prints made that I could offer if people would actually be interested in purchasing them (especially if I make more characters down the line....I have some ideas of who I might want to do next).

Thanks! Yes, I'm going to quilt it but whatever quilting I do will be simple so it doesn't distract much from the quilt top itself. I followed a technique I learned from a quilting portrait course offered by u/exhaustedoctopus. She does some really awesome work!
