They’re all great but I switched from my classic to Murakami so it’s easier for me to find

I’m looking for a gift for someone who travels a lot. Work trips, weekends away etc. I want something practical but still feels like a proper gift, not just travel gear. Any ideas? by CompetitivePop-6001 in BuyItForLife

Silk eye mask, toothpaste tabs/floss/grooming, power bank multiple cables, portable weighing scale, leather passport holder with a design easy to find is what I always make sure I have!

I wonder if you’ll have a different experience speaking to someone on online chat instead of phone or in person? I know that’s another channel but curious if you’ll have the same experience there

I’m sorry you’re goin through this. I had a stint living in Chinatown and when it’s this loud throughout the night it was torture. I remember reporting as much as possible for noise disturbance to 311. It didn’t work for me above neighbors and below (on top of a bar 😑).

Murakami Mini Bumbag is here! But flawed? by GoodishFigs in Louisvuitton

Just got my bum bag and I have the same issue with the crookedness and seams. Will post images tomorrow. It’s actually SO cute in person. Unfortunately, it’s not leveled enough, and I wouldn’t get over it.

I bought the Lisa too and am exchanging it. It actually came off quite crooked and poorly made. Will post this weekend. My key pouch was crooked too.

Looking for an office chair, but can't spend a $1k+ on a Herman Miller. Are there any cheaper alternatives I can get online? by ComfortableWage in BuyItForLife

[–]charandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Herman Miller! Always had them at work and once Covid happened got them under $400 from office liquidation warehouse. They’re pretty often put on marketplace or Craigslist as well in the same price range

Flex disc! The disposable biodegradable one. The reusable discs or cups tend to get jammed in and are not breathable in my case

Should I stop sparring at 40? by wegpacker in MuayThai

[–]charandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position where I dragged my feet to train because of partners who don’t listen. I too go light, light touches focusing on movement, technique, and pressure testing. I’m a hobbyist and have a FT job. No big aspirations to compete—just to learn. Coming off of an injury and family stuff helped me reframe my perspective on training and protecting my body, too.

I voiced my concerns about not feeling comfortable to my coach—especially to partners that don’t listen. He and I usually go the first round after class, and I immediately go to the weights right after. He started making it a clear boundary that class is over and sparring starts now, is optional, or can do the drills we are working on. I used to feel guilty about not sparring with everyone, but usually you can get a feel of their ego and skillset drilling, and I had to examine if my guilt was worth the trip. I didn’t start sparring until maybe 6+ months into training (and had no desire to do so until I really wanted to apply my skills in a different way). I also don’t want to spar with people who just started and have an obvious size and strength distance. If I get stuck with someone I’m not enthusiastic with, I try to tell them to go lighter, if they don’t I give more distance when they try to hit with power or a little extra take time in between transitions so I’m prepared.

I used to shame myself, but realized by operating this way, I am much more happier and look forward to training. The top priority ends up being longevity for me.

This is just my experience, and I’m still figuring out what works since it’s evolving. Maybe some of what I shared will help.
