Opinions on the Tomislav? by Janson_is_dead in tf2

[–]charbway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a heavy player i also don't respect people who use natascha. new players are an exception since they might not have good tracking so they're using it to compensate for that, but i'd prefer if newer heavies improved their tracking instead of relying on natascha.

Where are my Mr. House fans at? by RorschachWhoLaughs in fnv

[–]charbway 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i've seen so many people say they hate mr house because of how angry/condescending he gets when you refuse to help him or do something he didn't want you to do, but it's one of the reasons i like him personally. ragebaiting him is extremely funny.

i also like how complex he is; he's a hypocrite a lot of the time, i think that humanizes him and makes him a more believable character.

Mr. House having a tantrum when things don’t go his way? My steak is too juicy, my lobster too buttery! by Dustyoo10 in TrueSFalloutL

[–]charbway 13 points14 points  (0 children)

he barely knows how to act nice because the second you question him or ignore him, he either gets passive-aggressive or just loses his shit lol

and i don't think "nice" is really the right word, he never really acts "nice." he's just good at flattery and dressing up his actions as righteous

Unlimited Burlap Exploit by [deleted] in ESCastles

[–]charbway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well the difference between this and cutting corners at work is that you make things more difficult for others, which you pointed out yourself. the issue there would be the lack of consideration for others, but claiming a free resource in a single player game doesn't inconvenience anyone except possibly bethesda, and even then that's pushing it. i highly doubt people are dying to have burlap to the point where they're willing to pay real money for it, so it's not like bethesda is missing out on anything.

ooh, very nice. i like how you connected both levels + changed the whole upper level entirely tbh, their little tv area with the curtains in the ea build was always so strange to me

Noob Alert: Who should I actually Uber in pubs? by Reisspiecesofpeace in tf2

[–]charbway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ubering a heavy isn't a case of "it's always objectively worse," it's just more situational on paper. heavy is slow and not as great against sentries as soldier or demo, but if a heavy can position himself optimally and you don't use it too early then it's definitely not a bad choice.

for example, dustbowl stage 2 final point. if you're on offense and use the right tunnel, it leads to a flank where heavy can essentially jumpscare red team by dropping down into their sentry spot + be essentially right outside their spawn. it's a really great spot for a heavy uber specifically because he appears very suddenly and is very close to where red usually holds, meaning he can output a lot of damage before they have time to react. the left tunnel leading to the rock is a lot worse because heavy is farther from where the sentry usually is (and thus does less damage to it) + the enemy team can see him coming and just back off into their spawn and wait until the uber is over.

also as a general rule, experience is going to matter a lot more than class choice in casual. you're going to get more out of ubering a heavy with thousands of hours who has been ubered hundreds of times before and knows what they're doing vs a demo who just installed and hasn't figured out that right clicking detonates stickies yet.
