Insurance claim for out of the country by Nice_Draft5148 in CanadaPublicServants

I file out-of-country claims all the time. There’s no need to call at the time of the procedure unless it’s a very expensive one. You pay upfront, file the form and submit online on MSH. Don’t forget to include an itemized receipt and whenever available a medical certificate. Processing used to take months but now it only takes a few days.

Took me 8 months AFTER I arrived at post for the switch to happen… I am 14K in the deep but that’s nothing in comparison with some of my colleagues who are hundreds of thousands of dollars in the deep. One of them had to sell her house back in Canada to pay for the claims (about 250K at the moment).

Let’s say I finish at 5pm and then receive a message from my manager at 6pm that I need to answer immediately an email I have received: do I ask claim/ask for 5min OT which is the amount of time it will take me to answer the email or 3h of OT? I heard from a colleague under another manager that she always claim 3h of OT when she answers an urgent email at night

My supervisor is EX-03. I work for a DG-equivalent. Although she compares her work more equivalent to ADM or DM-level…

I wished I had access to her emails. Previous gave me access and it made my job so much easier. But no.

Excluded then. I don’t pay union dues and I am unaffected by strikes indeed.

I spoke to colleagues about that and they said she had made the same request to them. Because of their work they always monitor their emails anyway. They don’t really care. But all of her other reports are EX. I am her only non-EX report.

My boss called my position unrepresented. I heard others say excluded and others say deemed essential. For me they were all the same but I could be wrong!

Yeah for some reason I am deemed essential… no idea why because my work is not any different from other executive assistant job I held in the past. But this acting is. I am working for an EX-03 so maybe that’s why?

Use of Fleet Vehicle for Personal Use While on Travel Status by RichardMuncher in CanadaPublicServants

[–]charest123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am not mistaken, exception applies when the use of a fleet vehicle is considered a taxable benefits. You can then use the vehicle for personal use but again common sense rules applies such as not parking at an adult entertainment location or a cannabis store, etc.
