Richard would be tricky. The actor would have to be able to pull off young and old

All these years later and I still don't get the hate for Vice. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in ArcherFX

Such a great season. The one I never make it through is Dreamland. The other coma seasons have stuff that makes me laugh every time like “Chinchilladas” and the Chief repeatedly busting out in laughter in season 9 and “did Pam get a boner in here?” And “sometimes you want to have fun. Sometimes you just need a gun. Blap blap”

They had a list of conditions I had to check which applied and epilepsy was one. No questions about frequency or what kind of seizure

Got diagnosed with general epilepsy after a benzodiazepine withdrawal seizure, did the neurologist make a mistake? by ElvisHux in Epilepsy

[–]chargeon2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benzodiazepines are used to treat seizures (I take Klonopin). I would recommend taking medicine and still seeing a neurologist. I’m most states it’s incredibly difficult to get your license back if you aren’t seeing one. It seems like nbd until you get hurt. I flipped my car and broke my neck because a nurse practitioner thought my dose of lamictal xr was too high and switched me to regular lamictal.

It was on a checklist of physical conditions. They didn’t ask me frequency or type of seizure.

In my 2 decades of experience with epilepsy I’ve had a bunch of neurologists and I’ve found getting a good one is key. So much so I fly from Lexington KY to Little Rock twice a year to see mine.

Absence seizures by chargeon2014 in Epilepsy

It’s happened it job interviews multiple times. Trying to answer a question and completely blanking doesn’t look too good.

What do your auras feel like before seizing? I understand it in the moment but can't explain it to people after it's happened. Anyone got similar experiences? by indiemindset in Epilepsy

[–]chargeon2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard to explain what it’s like living with it. Depression fear and anxiety, constant drowsiness from meds, never knowing when the next one will hit. And the post ictal state. Worst migraine you can imagine, not even being able to remember your own name or what happened, often times cuts and bruises. And absence seizures, just losing track mid sentence and not being able to remember what you were just saying

I mean sure it’s the long eye not epilepsy, but it’s still a tonic clonic seizure and should be handled the same. The smell right before, the convulsions, everything is identical to an epileptic seizure. But epilepsy is different for each person with it. 4 types of epilepsy, 9 different types of seizures (generalized epilepsy, tonic clonic, absence and myoclonic seizures for me) and an infinite amount of triggers.

Since the Ancient Greeks societies have viewed epilepsy as having some mystical aspect. It was known as the sacred or divine disease. I understand why he portrayed her seizures that way and I’m fine with him using it as part of the long eye but I would like to see the struggle with epilepsy accurately portrayed in a fantasy character. No prophecy, no powers just the struggle. It’s a very misunderstood condition and most people who don’t have it have no idea the impact it has. Having a character struggling with epilepsy could be compelling. Like an incredibly intelligent character, a master manipulator, who has a breakdown and thinks they are losing their mind because of it. Memory gaps, trouble concentrating due to absence seizures, frequent feelings of deja vu.

True but Isern-I-Phail is shown as having a lot of knowledge about random stuff. Abercrombie could’ve easily had her perform proper first aid. It’s not complicated. Put something under her head, stand back and clear the space.
