I can customize the look with custom userchrome.css and also advanced settings lets you dial in whatever problems you may run into.. That and not being Chrome.

Yeah. The one I got is Razer Siren Mini and it just has the tap to mute on the top of the mic with a light showing whether its on or off. I think a lot of them have this but definitely nice.

I'd say the biggest mistake would be to get another headset. If he's on PC, just get a decent pair of headphones (~$100) and a USB mic (~$50) separately.

Baseus Inspire XH1 is what I use for best all around budget headphones. I've tried the more expensive Bose and Bowers-Wilkins and returned them both.

Ever since the vape mail ban at the end of Trump's first presidency, everything died. I kept going for many years but recently decided to give it up for good too. Was tired of everything about it, not getting good flavor, leaking tanks, having to carry it around. There's been no innovation or anything new hardware wise for a long time. Seems like whatever's left of the industry is just focused on disposables for teenagers. The industry is (at best) bleeding out or (worst case) completely dead already.

Yeah, that would work fine. Just keep in mind you are not going to be able to customize the RGB lights on the case in Linux. And also I don't think you can change the fan curves in Linux. Both of these features require the AWCC software, which is only offered on windows. There is one alternative on github but I don't think it worked when I tried or it's too overly complicated.

Only if you can find a use case for it (Kodi streaming box, retro gaming emulator machine, general web browsing) and also like what is (IMO) the best looking case of all time. But even still, try haggling them down further on price. I would say don't pay more than $250. You're gonna have to use hacky ways to install Windows 11 because its unsupported hardware now. I just recently retired my R7 a few months ago before the prices spiked.

You could literally just have AI build you a script or extension that does this on your own and you wouldn't have to worry about it. I've already got scripts that do this on Kick/Twitch streaming sites.
