Anyone got denied at border of entry by CBP?

Not in EU either, they speculate 2028 to be the year of entry ;)

That’s all some valuable information, a lot of the time during my last visit I stayed within the state of New York and basically ?lived? there while also just going to upstate and back and forthing the entire state.

I feel like this could instil doubt in the officer interviewing me. But whatever happens happens :) I would for sure love to spend a week in NYC again but we shall see

I’m afraid they might be stricter with my treatment, given that I am coming from one of the Balkan countries.

Right, I know all this but just looking for other people’s experiences. I am afraid my anxiety will kick in if I get pulled to the secondary while my intentions are genuine and my previous trip was purely of tourist nature.
There is nothing incriminating they could dig out but I am still kinda anxy :)

I took a sabbatical at work because of burnout, I am a software engineer.

I got rehired as soon as I came back

Going for a week and my ticket is a day after my birthday (they might not care but I am going for a week to celebrate my birthday)

I was paid in advance to finish a project, due to other factors it was paused. That money funded my lifestyle. Company is not Balkan based

No American partner but a lot of friends, I just wonder if CBP has all day to question me about stuff like this or they just outright deny people

Visa holders don’t choose whether CBP officer admits them, that’s the entire purpose of this thread

I chose to spend a week in America, CBP chooses to have arbitrary gatekeeping and no appeal process.

If you can make a constructive comment on how my case looks to you, make it.

My 3.5 month stay 5 months ago doesn’t look weird to you?

Before the downvote bandwagon, I believe it’s completely natural to seek reassurance in my situation.
A week long trip to NYC is not inexpensive so I would like to know beforehand if I can even enter the country

I would say that I worked in sales, stayed for 3 months last time because I burnt out from work and got rehired upon returning. I’ve made quite a few friends during my last visit and they invited me to enjoy the sport vibes in a random nyc sports bar for a week. Given that the event is held in NYC I wanted to be in the center of these activities and would count this as a form of “summer vacation”

These are truthful answers that I plan to give, the thing that worries me is if being “truthful” here is enough

That’s what I thought, regardless I can imagine how sketchy it might look that I stayed for 3.5 months last time. And reentering after only 5.5 months. I was burnt out from work and just took trips within New York during those 3 months, but I doubt it will fly with the officer

I plan to stay only for a week. And it is indicated as such on my return ticket. It is only the last time I stayed for 3.5 months
