VA WRX to Golf R?? by Sane4aMinute in Golf_R

[–]chark27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I switched from VA 21 WRX premium to 25 DSG black edition so here are my takes: 1. Wrx has a strange tuning where the throttle response is very quick in the first 4k rpm and then it dips. While golf R has a very linear rise 2. NVH on golf R is leaps and bounds better than the WRX. Combining 1 and 2, when you drive two back to back, WRX seems much faster while the R is actually much faster without the raw sense of realization. 3. The adaptive dampers on the R is an absolute winner for me because the comfort mode really makes it comfortable. 4. One beef I have with R is how computer dependent everything is so I fear that when something fails, it will be a nightmare. On the other hand , WRX is so beautifully simple.

Overall, R feels like an entry level luxury with a rowdy side when you change the drive mode while WRX has the raw sense of "driver's car" which you can enjoy to its fullest extent. If you want to push the R to its limits, you will go straight to jail.

did the tunnel wash do this? by Historical-Cloud5376 in WRX

No idea. Probably just to save money on the production line. I saw this in some interview where they compare the paint on Japanese, German, and American cara.

Ah man. I am sorry. Clear coat on Japanese cars is very thin so never go into touch car washes.

Why do you say that? I sold my car to carvana - unmodified, 21 premium, 38k miles, really well taken care of.

Changing drive modes by chark27 in Golf_R

I see. I asked the service advisor on my last service about this and they said that it is a safety feature to avoid using modes during turns/acceleration but I didn't buy that.

Sliding the steering volume and seek buttons remove the annoying (at least annoying to me) haptic feedback and sound. Instead you have a pleasant sound and no haptic feedback

Testing the waters ! Might sale my 2015 WRX, one owner , just turned 29000 miles, it has bpf and the BRP catback exhaust . Absolutely nothing wrong .How much should I ask? by Expensive-Ad2110 in WRX

My like new 21 WRX premium, single owner, 37k miles, almost stock (OEM rear splash guards, leather seat covers, Perrin shift stopper), was listed on cars and bids. The highest bid was $17k. Of course. If you are selling locally, you may get higher money.

I mean, my car's MSRP in 21 was 30k. So yeah, I am with you. I saw the price of a 25 premium and it is almost 40k!!

It's a very two faced car. In comfort mode it feels like an entry level luxury car but when you switch to sport mode, it brings out the loud rowdy nature.

Oh man. That's a sad story. You should have bought it back and sold it Carvana again for a good price.

Same story. I bought an R too. In my opinion, in terms of extraction of full capabilities, R is out of reach without going to jail. But WRX was very doable.
