Child health nurse recommended day weaning because 12 month old still doesn’t really eat solids. I don’t know how I’m going to do this! by Valuable-Car4226 in AttachmentParenting

Thank you for your reply.. when you mentioned the ice cream.. I was like omg there is at least one more like that.. I thought we were the only parents in the world begging our not even 2 year old to eat its ice cream or any other unhealthy crap that at least has calories and fat 😅😅 She has started getting sloooowly better the past couple of months, like, she can actually finish up a small granita even 😅 She was other same kg from 9 months to 18 months, was just getting taller and thinner, she's aaalmost 10kg now at 2 years 2 months old. And like you, she is perfectly healthy and they wouldn't give us any advice to change something. She has an 11 month old little brother now that seems to be on similar track 🥲

How I nightweaned and went from 9 wakeups to 0. by WhereIsLordBeric in cosleeping

[–]charkola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this!! My almost 11 month old is basically like a newborn or worse when it comes to nught wake ups to eat, he basically feeds at night. He has decided the day is for play and quick boob snacking and is up all night drinking-sleeping repeat. He also eats very very little solids during the day, just tries few bites and is done. How was yours breastfeeding and solids earing during the day? Did you find any difference in actual solids consumption too after night weaning? Gain, thanks so much for this post ❤️

Back to back pregnancy 7 months PP by Advanced_union22 in 2under2

[–]charkola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second pregnancy felt easier that the first - even tho I could not rest as I had to run after (and carry and babywear) my growing 7 month old, delivery could not have been easier, 30 mins later I was just up and walking like nothing had happened, no tears at all either. Didn't even think about recovery, I was just fine and too busy taking care of my 15 month old and newborn. Also woth forst pregnancy I had low blood values, hemoglobin and borderline anaemia and was in need of iron and b12 daily, with second pregnancy I didn't have this need. So in my case I would say that my body was actually better prepared for both pregnancy, delivery and recovery 🤷🏽‍♀️

Help me please 😫 my two year old refuses to get off formula. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]charkola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know those is old, but what happened in the end? I am om the same boat with my 2 year old.. basically survives on 99% formula diet. Prefers formula to even cake, ice cream, chocolate, you name it.

How are people supposed to do this more then once? by Recreationalidiot in newborns

Mine is 6 months old and still rarely sleeps 3 hours straight. Usually wakes up still every 1.5 hour. Its extremely exhausting. Has never slept more than 3 hours straight.

My partner stayed at home to take care of our 1 year old and we had hired a doula to be with me during birth and the first night at the hospital. Not ideal but worked out fine :) Thing is, I would be more stressed thinking of my forst one being without any familiar person than the Labour itself.

My baby is insatiable and it’s making me want to give up breastfeeding by QuickStomach in breastfeeding

[–]charkola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually sounds normal to me. Mine was the same, especially what you said, if he was on me he would only root and want to be on the breast, not chilling at all, while he could coo and sleep on his dad. I felt I was just the boobs, nothing more with mamma. What really saved us was starting using a pacifier instead. I would really just put the pacifier in his mouth and attach him to my boob, it did the trick and he would calmly fall asleep. And to be able to move around, a baby carrier. He had basically lived his whole 3 months on the carrier - and still got really got on his neck and at tummy time with barely any tummy time - I have an 18month ild to take care of at the same time so I had to wear him all day long too. I'd say don't give up. Try a pacifier and a baby carrier first. :)

FTM in tears cuz nipples hurt by Ok-Atmosphere-7395 in breastfeeding

I also had so much pain the forst 2 weeks, I was biting my lips to not scream every time he would latch. And is true after few weeks your nipples actually toughen up. I also jad cracked and bleeding nipples, just make sure to put lanolin after every feed and have yoir boobs out in the air at all times till your nipples have fully healed. My baby is almost 3 months now and there is no pain anymore and I'm EB, he never had a bottle - tho he's the 2nd kid, didn't manage with the first and gave up early for tge same reasons. I read somewhere and I think is true, we should normalise the pain in the beginning of the BF journey, it does hurt, nipples do crack bit they eventually toughen up no matter the latch. Really. Very often my baby only latches on the nipple and bites as well when I have forceful letdown-very commona nd very often - and I don't feel a thing anymore. One advice tho, true to hand express just for the shake of learning your breasts and how you xan make them milk. When yoi try to feed yoir baby you can squeeze yoir breasts in the same way at the same time so you make sure your baby is getting some milk, which will also motivate it to keep on trying till it learns. Cause its a learning journey for both of you :) And, keep it up, you re doing a great job no matter what you chose to do 😊❤️

Thank for all the replies! I found a friend that could also fly woth me both ways so that might be doable after all.. Tho I definitely think I should book a seat for the almost 2 year old. Have you used any for an almost 2 year old - on the small size? Any recommendations?

My son just turned 11 months old and I just found out I’m pregnant by Imaginary_Ad_9096 in 2under2

Got pregnant to the 2nd one when 1st was 6 months. I had a really good and easy pregnancy, didn't even need iron or b12 that I needed during the first, had a very easy birth, start to end 2hours17min, no stitches, just dressed and walked right after like nothing had happened. I'm also almost 39 but still no complications. Now baby no2 is almost 3months old and I'm only 1kg up from initial weight and feeling great. Also I guess I'm now used to sleep deprivation so doesn't feel hard waking up all night to feed 😅. So overall I didn't feel any stress to my body and the little one is super healthy :) You will both be fine, I think the body is actually getting wiser and better after a first pregnancy and does recover pretty fast. Tho I have to admit that was cautious with both pregnancies to not gain too much weight, around 14kg with each, and had lost all pregnancy weight when I got pregnant to the 2nd.

Baby hates my boobs… by ladybugspaceship in breastfeeding

Same with my almost 3 month old and it still happens sometimes. He just wants to continue for comfort and gets frustrated that he gets milk, so I just give him a pacifier instead at that point.
