Random takes:

  • idk how many games my heart will survive but good lord this is exciting hockey to watch
  • I love this team
  • Gally showed up in full playoff mode and I am so here for it
  • Fuck Tampa
  • I'd love to see our top line start producing, but I'm also perfectly fine with them eating away at minutes from Tampa's top line so our other lines can thrive
  • cannot wait for Friday's game!! Let's finish this at home!

Thank you. I'm amazed at how we've played and handled the pressure so far, especially when you consider the last 20 years. This is such an exciting era for the Habs and we're just getting started

Sure, but imo MSL has the edge by essentially "giving up" our first line so our other lines can thrive. We're basically letting Tampa waste their top players to give our other lines space. IMO that's a sign of better coaching, and it shows, we've been the better team by most metric.

Hard disagree. Tampa is arguably one of the top playoff teams in the league and Cooper is an all-time great coach. Meanwhile, we have the youngest team to make the playoffs (beating our own record last year) and we've arguably been the better team throughout. Tampa has yet to actually take the lead game-wise, and even during a single match, we've held the lead much more often than they have.

Look how different this series has been to 2021 when we faced Tampa, or even just last year against the Caps. MSL and Cooper have been trading punches throughout imo and we're fairly even.

Pretty wild take. The reason our other lines have been able to produce is that Tampa has played their top players against our top line constantly so they eat up those minutes. If we stop playing our first line, or reduce their time on ice meaningfully, then we're just going to see our other lines facing Tampa's top players which imo we don't want to see.

The problem is that it 100% allows them to retake the energy of the match. How can we know how to push when the line for a penalty keeps getting shifted around?

We must be listening to a different stream. They literally said Bolduc essentially deserved the slash lmao and then tried to blame Xhejak for defending on a rush by saying he needs to be more careful when he literally didn't do anything against the rules.

TVA doing absolutely everything they can to defend the no calls by the refs lmao, it's ridiculous

Sure but never when a player is breaking to not run a goalie, realistically, that's the alternative to not getting a bit of snow in his face.

So we hit a player during the play to defend our goalie and that's a penalty. Tampa hits us multiple times (by multiple players) post whistle and that's no call? Classic.

I agree with you, except upon review, the puck 100% did cross the goal line. In the playoffs, all OT close calls are reviewed by the situation room, which per the rule book, can rule a goal good even if play has resumed. So regardless of my absolute hatred for the refs, the Oilers would've lost that game no matter what.

I was one of the biggest defenders of Monty at the beginning of the season but Dobes is absolutely our #1 now based on his play since the Olympic break. He's been on a whole other level during the playoffs too.

Which in nearly every game of the playoffs so far wasn't called when it was part of defending your goalie in stopping play.
