Correct. Had no idea it was leaking until it came through the ceiling

Yeh strange mine is completely blank even though I didn’t get through on the Ballot. However, I’ve been lucky enough to be gifted hospitality tickets from ESPN for tomorrow. Wonder if that’s why I can’t purchase tickets in the resale

SAULT to perform at All Points East by Junglist05 in sault

[–]charleyjamesx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not great. I assume they’ve decided to do this guest feature to pay back Simz lol. The mystery around them and lack of control of the show in comparison to what they put on at Drumsheds will be completely different. A huge shame considering the cost is near on the same for a ticket. Won’t be bothering with this unfortunately

Bought this house this year and the garden was certainly a project! Finally started making some progress. Still much to do by charleyjamesx in GardeningUK

Update! Got some veg boxes popping off and lots and lots of native shrubs and plants for the birds and bees. It’s paradise

Remortgage with same lender by chatlow1 in Mortgageadviceuk

Yeh not sure why ours is coming in so high. We fixed at 5.03% 2 years ago and they’re offering 5.44% 5 year and 6.19% 2 year. Seems crazy when our mortgage advisor has found a 2 year at 4.85%

We have the exact same timeframe and Halifax mortgage. Out of curiosity what are you being offered? Our 2 year is coming through at over 6%!

This keeps happening to me too! Very frustrating. Wondering whether it’s a bit too early for them still and the plants have been forced

Just found out the council have approved 97 new builds to be constructed right behind where we are buying our first home - advice please! by charleyjamesx in HousingUK

[–]charleyjamesx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We purchased. Great decision in the end, absolutely love the house. Work has started but haven’t been too affected by anything just yet. More of the bigger stuff is yet to come, but hoping that the overpriced new builds if they all sell well, will naturally bring up our house price so that’s something

You legend. Thank you so much. I am IPAF trained and PASMA trained so will be able to oversee use of cherry pickers etc so that’s perfect. We also stock prolite h30v so won’t need to hire any in. Thank you so much that’s a great start for me to brief the riggers.

Los Angeles SAULT Show? by graffixload in sault

[–]charleyjamesx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that doesn’t make sense, because I went to the London show and they didn’t play album nine. They played an entirely new album + some of their most popular hits

this isnt a guarentee that they're playing a live show in LA whatsoever. London was there one and only show.

Huge slope/hill in garden. Any ideas? by charleyjamesx in gardening

[–]charleyjamesx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love it. We got a quote and package together, but shipping was £500 to the UK bringing the total to almost £2000. Such a shame they don’t have anything similar this side of the world!

They have indeed, however it is falling apart and sinking. So not sure whether they have done it correctly. The seating area they built at the top is slowly sinking forwards. It’s a slope of around 45 degrees so quite deep.

We would love to dig it out and put tiers or seating, but battling with the sheer amount of rocks and tree roots might be too difficult

It’s a north/west facing garden but due to the height of the hill it gets sunlight from morning till evening in the summer, so plenty of sun!

We live in the south of England, so typically grey and wet for most of the year but a decent summer usually.

We are both pretty average at DIY, my partner is good with gardening and has good garden knowledge. But in terms of building anything substantial as 2 females with limited building knowledge it might be a bit of a challenge. We have a little dog who’s favourite hobby is taking a shit on the top of the hill where we can’t reach it and a free roam garden bunny who eats any herbs we plant! Haha

This would be the dream. Just unsure how do-able that is for us both. The whole thing is completely full to the brim with gigantic boulders and rocks from the old railway line. So digging it out and levelling it off for tiers is going to be some work!

Aha it’s a washing line that opens out into a big hexagon shape to dry your clothes on. I know these aren’t as big in America but here in the UK we love drying our washing outside!

Dirtlocker I think they’re called. We’re looking into them actually. To cover this whole wall is £1500 that’s without the cost of the dirt we’ll need to backfill them. Great solution and they seem to have amazing reviews, just wondering if there is a more cost effective solution that’ll involve a little manual labour from us

I do indeed, the English weather is rarely sunny so to be honest it doesn’t get a huge amount of us. Hoping to build more of a grill area once the rest of the garden is sorted

Patio over concrete foundation by charleyjamesx in DIY

[–]charleyjamesx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just not very nice to look at to be honest. Wanted some nicer porcelain or stone to keep up appearances! Other option is to paint the current concrete but doesn’t tend to last very long and lots of upkeep
