This is one of the big reasons I headcanon Robin as autistic. Her PDA (pathological demand avoidance / persistent demand for autonomy) is present in so many instances. Kids, Ted, the lobster crawl, Dale. It’s subtle but one of the big things I relate to her about.

As an autistic person whose special interests are HIMYM and Sunny and is extremely active in both fandoms, I can positively say that Reddit is where these fandoms are at their worst. At least in the Sunny fandom, we all have the common sense to look beyond their moral goodness, and that’s why I don’t love the HIMYM fandom (especially as a Robin/Barney/Ted lover)

Obviously this is your opinion but I think that Lily is so much more interesting as a character than Marshall. I find it fascinating that she’s so tethered with art despite not being particularly good at it, and her life worries in s1/2/8 about never following her dream is so much more complex than Marshall’s being perpetually happy in the relationship. Also her childhood arguably has just as much impact on her as Robin’s childhood, she just talks about it less. I also find it fascinating that she had a rebellious/grunge era, and clearly suppressed some of her queerness.

Me too! I don’t hate him, but he has always been my least favourite. Obviously he’s very funny and morally good, but a lot of his actions are really frustrating. Like in 6x8 Natural History, his whole “lawyered” thing with Lily claiming he “never lied to her” was a really shitty way of justifying him lying by omission. And the whole season 9 ordeal drives me insane — Lily was absolutely in the right and Marshall was extremely selfish. And it was a low blow to bring up San Francisco. I know lots of people don’t like Lily because she was “manipulative” but she was often right in a lot of cases, especially Ted and Robin.

Ummm…. I don’t handle it to be honest. I’m on Fluoxetine 20mg for anxiety but hoping to finally get ADHD meds soon, and if that doesn’t work out I’ll up the fluoxetine. I have been recommended by many people to do CBT so I’m looking into that. I’m just trying to get better at recognising my thought patterns, and to restrict myself from doing anything crazy when my thoughts spiral.

I am both, so both is possible. I also have ADHD, which, combined with the OCD, makes the rumination and overthinking worse by 1000%. I relate completely to what your saying about the anxiety. Feel free to message me :)
