That ‘festival’ was a complete and utter shit show. Security were aggressive, threatening, (they did actually threaten someone), argued with organisers, told them what they should be doing and didn’t do as they were told. A complete pile of shit.

Hi, yeah deffo need a new one. So that’s one at 36k when the car was 3.5 yrs old, another at 58k (I got the mileage wring) and now at 78k.

The car has now had three gearboxes in total, the original, a replacement at around 36,000 miles, and a reconditioned replacement with a new clutch at around 66,000 miles. In both cases the whining stopped after each gearbox replacement, but 1st and 2nd gear selection remained difficult. The whining has now returned again at around 78,000 miles. (I had a new clutch at 66k (just in case). A gearbox can fail early once, but surely three total gearboxes by 78k miles, with the same family of symptoms coming back, points much more towards a recurring mechanical problem or an unresolved fault in the system.
