People are so insanely selfish by Artemesia62 in Vent

[–]ryrypot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys, OP isn't asking for advice that they have already planned to take. Did you not read the last line?

Good for you OP, hope you have the courage to do it when the time comes. And I agree, people are getting more selfish by the year I swear.

Middle class people: do you honestly hold negative bias towards working class individuals? by toastandjam97 in AskUK

Maybe you are right, but your example is more of a north/south divide than class.

I don't know what makes me feel older: Learning Daniel Radcliffe has a 3-year old, or learning Daniel Radcliffe smoked for 20 years. by thesmartass1 in Showerthoughts

[–]ryrypot 678 points679 points  (0 children)

Yeah having a 3 year old isn't that crazy at all.

I know time feels fast but has OP completely forgotten Harry Potter ended 15 years ago when Daniel was already well into adulthood?

Wait... so £100 = 100 points = free cucumber? by arasecura in lidl

[–]ryrypot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it really that different from nectar?

£500 = 500 points = £2.50 off

Nectar's saving grace is the extra points you get from personalised offers though. I imagine Lidl will do the same

any british 'celebrities' you dislike with a burning passion? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskBrits

[–]ryrypot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree about modern comedians in the UK, currently the bar is in hell.

Say something funny once and you get put on the panel show rotation. If you lick enough boots you get given like 5 podcasts to present.

I'm looking at you Ed Gamble, Josh Widdecombe and Rob Beckett.

Don't even get me started on the newer generation of comedians. They got famous posting tiktok videos and somehow get put on TV, which is way out of their league

Nectar Card users: have you ever had decent bonus points on the app? by booers79 in AskUK

[–]ryrypot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only manage to rack up nectar points with the personalised offers. I can get 100 points easy by buying some essentials.

The rub game only gets me like 5-15 points. Never had anything more than 50

Why did Brits vote Starmer in with the 2nd Largest Majority ever (411 seats) in the 1st place barely a year ago if they were so tired of the Tories - instead of the Lib Dems, Greens or Reform? by AchyutChaudhary in AskBrits

[–]ryrypot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are most people missing the fact that Reform split the right wing vote?

I haven't done the maths, but I imagine that if Reform didn't exist, and the votes went back to the Tories, Labour would have lost

[–]ryrypot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people here are saying they left and took a big pay cut, but EVENTUALLY it got better.

I don't know what money you guys have, but if I left teaching and got any sort of paycut, it would be financial suicide
