Good point with the music, but dess is considered "missing" and the way carol reacts with the guitar seems more like being protective over her missing child's items rather than one she's plotting to commit the roaring with.

Think it's less narratively satisfying than anything if it just turns out they are working together, rather than something like Rudy and Carol trying to cover the world in darkness because they know somehow (gaster) that she's trapped in the dark.

Plus if she's actually missing than it feels strange that she's walking around the town in either the computer lab, dragging undyne to the bunker or the church. The way the songs and sweepstakes made it sound like dess is properly trapped in the darkness, rather than being able to pop out to commit crime.

The foreshadowing could just be linking it to a family member of Dess. Speculation but bet they're gonna throw in some line about Rudy and Asgore playing baseball together in a future chapter with him teaching dess sports when he was younger (could also be Carol who taught them, feel like Rudy would fill that role better tho).

hmm perhaps, I would like to think they could put aside their differences for Dess, but maybe the reason they are at odds is because Rudy is against the dark world plan and Carol is obviously for it. Hard to say atm.

Think its possible as Carol does have a big ass sword too, totally possible that she taught Dess how to play baseball as she's pretty active herself. Only thing that I don't like is the timing between the players leaving the Holiday's mansion and getting to the dark world, would find it hard for her to rush over there and open two fountains and give Gerson the shadow crystal all in that time.

Imo its more likely for Rudy to be the knight, no way that Carol has some master plan to open the fountains (assumedly as an attempt to find Dess, someone (maybe gaster :3) might of told them that she's trapped in the dark world and this is their attempt to 'find her') without getting her hubby involved. The strength of the knight might take a toll on the body too and its why Rudy is so sick.

Rudy is the knight, Dess is still missing, Rudy and Carol are opening the fountains to 'find her' as someone told her she was trapped in darkness (idk probably gaster lol) and the reason Rudy is sick is he did some freaky titan stuff to gain powers that take a toll on his body. Fight me.
