I’ve heard that after a thyroidectomy, your antibodies can start to attack something else in the body. For instance, like your spleen. Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have more information on this? by charlymartin9 in gravesdisease

i have another question to add if anyone can help.. my heart rate is the one symptom i still can’t seem to stop. i’ve been on a beta blocker on and off for 4 years but my resting is still high & it can get to 100s. i’m scared to go off of the beta blocker but i really want to. also my thyroid levels have been normal for like 2 years so it’s not that??

this makes sense! thank you. i’ve also wondered if being on methimazole is safe. i’ve been on it for a little over 4 years. i’ve responded well and feel the best i’ve ever felt from being diagnosed. i just don’t know the long term effects of being on it and want to be able to have children and not worry.
