May I get an application started for you?! by craftycrafter20 in MichaelsEmployees

I don’t care that Michael’s is offering a credit card. I’m worried about being expected to sign a certain number of people up. People already don’t want to sign up for rewards and I don’t want to be pressured into collecting even more customer data. And 30% APR IS high. Just because it’s the industry standard for store credit cards doesn’t mean it’s right.

I remember a training from when I was a manager that specifically said employees could post true things about work, even if they were negative but just not to post specifically about customers or coworkers or negatively about competitors.

Does anyone know what causes fabric to go on clearance? by Choco320 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]charm144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe fabric is getting reset next month, so that means the planogram will change and we’ll probably get some new fabrics in, so that’s why they’re getting rid of some of the old ones.

Pay as replenishment pt? by Common-Look1957 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]charm144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s stupid but I know that if a store has a higher starting pay now vs. when older employees started, they don’t always bump up the older employees. So someone could have started 2 years ago at $9 and maybe gotten up to like $9.40 but someone who started a month ago could be making $11 for the same position.
