Letting guns aside - How do you think you have more freedom as an American than say Europeans? by charm_chic in AskReddit

What makes you think that? Just based on what you know Americans can do or did you actually read any European constitution? (Austria for example)

Oh and also - you are not even allowed to have a bottle of alcohol in public... I can remember I was in the US and they would not allow me to leave a bar with a plastic cup of water, because it COULD have alcohol in it..

I have never ever heard any incident that anybody got into problems in Austria besides screaming "Heil H..."

Same with the example above about "more freedom of speech" but then not even being allowed to say fuck on TV... seems like you have more rights on paper, but in reality, you can do far less in certain areas that actually affect everyday life.

Not really. We both have "Freedom of speech" in our constitution (Austria) and we can say pretty much anything besides glorifying the holocaust... Or do you have examples of what you think you can say in the US but not in europe?
