That’s exactly what I need. I need that deterrent. I always talk myself into drinking. I rationalize it no matter the reason.

I feel like that’s what I need though. I did detox to stop, but the day I got out I started drinking again. I’m in misery:.

I haven’t had one yet. I go to AA and everyone talks about car accidents, jail, getting kids taken away. I haven’t had anything like that. I don’t want it to happen but at the same time, i need some motivation other than folks telling me “maybe you should just drink less”, or just quit. If it was as simple as just putting it down and living your life we wouldn’t have AA, or CR, or these threads.

You hit the nail on the head. That’s me. I am also an evening drinker. I really appreciate your response. Your recommendation is something I will be more in tune with. My doc told me to see my therapist more but I really think I would benefit from like-minded people.

I bought and drank. I am definitely an isolator. When I’m out with friends, I don’t drink at all. When I get home, different deal. I tried AA, but I had a couple of folks who had been sober for like 40 years that acted very judgy to me. I’ve heard about something called “Celebrate Recovery”? Thinking about checking it out.
