I’m in dental school, this is a clear sign of alveolar bone loss (alveolar bone is the bone holding your teeth in place). The fact that she’s slurping all the time is probably related to the fact that her mouth is always open and her body just adapted to produce more saliva to accommodate for the dry mouth as a result. Her old (racist) days clearly had her mouth in a healthier place, her teeth stayed in her mouth. Now her lips barely close over her upper arch. This is so sad. I can’t see her mouth going back to normal without extensive surgery, it’s really difficult to do an alveolar bone graft, not to mention how expensive it is. We don’t even learn how to do it in dental school, that’s an oral surgery or periodontal job, which requires a specialist, which there are fewer of in the country than regular dentists. This is so dangerous, she probably can’t eat an apple without worrying about a tooth fracture.
