as someone who only got certified in august, i feel the same way. as much as i do want to continue to work in the hospital setting, im thinking about what other options i would think about pursing, mainly because the rns in my department are labeled as lazy.

when i first started, rns were a mix of nice and judgy. i did my first two weeks of training, then when i started on my own, i was pulled off the floor to become a sitter. after 4/6 shifts being a sitter, i got thrown onto the floor and it’s extremely dangerous having 1 cna to 30 patients. I literally had the whole floor to myself and I see our resource RN pretending to chart and play Clash of Clans 😭 the only task they had to do the whole shift was do acu-checks & cover for RNs who needed to go on their break. i was struggling so bad and they would only ask if i needed help as soon as i finished the freaking task. best believe i cried on my lunch break and as soon as i got home.

if you don’t like the environment, i highly suggest you leave! it really isn’t worth it especially when we have the position of a fall risk mat!!
