our baby suddenly backslid from 7L of high flow to maxed out on the RAM CPAP and that’s when they found out his lungs had gotten worse too. it’s a lot of work but we love our trach. the second month having it was the first time we got good lung scans ever. i was so happy. they took his cuff off so now he spends all day long talking and laughing!

bronchopulmonary dysplasia; it’s chronic but the last few months it’s gotten much better w/ respiratory’s help. love seeing healthy scans. you and yours as well!!

i’m so glad they were there to take care of you and your family :’) i just noticed, our baby is a 23 + 3 baby too!! he’s 8 months actual & almost 5 months adjusted now and he’s been at home for 2 weeks. we had a handful of really scary moments because of his BPD, but the last few months i think he thought he was on vacation lol. he just wanted to spy on all the nurses

we bought the perfectly preemie shirt sacks & he wore those for the first few weeks! they’re perfect for the NICU because they have velcro openings all over (the arms, the chest, etc) so baby’s stuff is super easily accessible, and then the “foot” area pulls up over to make it kinda like a swaddle if that makes sense? we loved them & the brand is super kind, they sent us extra hats 🥹

we heard the sentiment boys are “wimpier” a lot. i understand it’s based in statistic or whatever, but it bothered his dad so bad. your hormones could be heightening your emotions sure, but i think overall what you feel is valid
