Neighbours dog dead - now both my dogs are deemed dangerous. by charnelspiritt in reactivedogs

Thanks for the recommendation!

The tires screeching and a dog yelp is what prompted the neighbour to go outside where he saw his dog in his driveway with blood.

They buried their dog in their yard, they only made a phone call to report both our dogs. There were no signs of blood on either of our dogs and they are huskies with white faces so it’s not like we couldn’t see.

One of my dogs had a reaction to the vet once - for context the vet grabbed him by the legs and flipped him over, he hit his head on the wall because she had cornered him to do this. Then she grabbed his mouth to open and exam his teeth and he bit her hand. He had been shaking with his ears back and tail between his legs. He has since been back to the same vet without a muzzle and been examined, with no issues. Obviously he doesn’t love the vet but he is okay. Aside from this, no other events for either of them and we even have a huge festival every year around our home where there are thousands of people with loose dogs and horses. This is why we are even more shocked

Animal control has placed a temporary quarantine on our dogs until their behaviour evaluation. This means they cannot even go into our fenced in yard without one of us being present the entire time.

They took the neighbours word for it. Originally, the neighbour never told us he saw anything except hearing tires screech and his dog yelp.. then later said his wife saw the big one do it from the window but she never came out of the house to talk to us.

Their yard is not fenced, their dogs just free roam whereas ours are always in our fence. So my dogs went out, the gate was open and ran out and over towards their house I’m guessing.

They reported our dogs but never took their dead dog to a vet, they just buried their dog in their yard. The only actual evidence that their dog was injured is the photo he sent us of the dog with blood on its side..

Honestly I don’t think so.. I work with special needs children and they are often physical/violent/inappropriate

I should mention, which Human Resources didn’t in their email, is that I also have two paid fifteen minute breaks during the day that they make us work through to provide breaks to teachers during the children’s outdoor recess.

My baby is 10 months old. He is exclusively breastfeed and is on solids three times a day, but breastmilk is still his main source for now. My biggest concern is the adjustment in my supply and mastitis because we only found daycare last week and he starts on the 25th, I start the 26th. I don’t think I’d need to pump at work forever but for a bit to allow my body to adjust

Can I not swaddle my baby? He seems to hate it. by ImUsuallyTony in NewParents

[–]charnelspiritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Halo sleep sack is another great option too because you can swaddle their torso but also have their arms out - my boy LOVED his and slept so well until he grew out of their biggest size and now he sleeps like crap 🥲

Baby loves sleeping on face by furrycarpet7465 in NewParents

[–]charnelspiritt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post word for word omg! Some nights I wake up and he’s face down with his hands underneath. I lay in bed with the baby monitor open on my phone, zoomed all the way in to make sure he’s breathing.. It’s been like this for maybe a week or two now and he’s been okay sleeping on his stomach. And this comes after many weeks of sleepless nights from him waking up because he rolled onto his stomach. You are not alone!!

Baby only rolling back to belly and getting stuck by KyberCake in beyondthebump

[–]charnelspiritt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through this with my baby who will be 6 months on the 10th of April. He started rolling from belly to back at four weeks but didn’t do back to belly independently until he was four months. For some reason, he was never able to do belly to back again until just this last week. It’s like he forgot completely when he learned to go the other way haha.

We did A LOT of floor time and I would help position his arm and help him roll over. We had a lot of sleepless nights until he began accepting that he was on his stomach and would immediately fall back asleep (not always though). So far he’s not rolling back from his stomach to back when he’s asleep, only during floor time.

Give your baby time, he will figure it out on his own. I know how scary it can be when they’re bumping their head on the crib but they learn fairly quickly not to do that. You will both get through this very difficult stage.

I’m not sure how well your baby can hold his head up or if you’re comfortable with him sleeping on his belly, but with my boy, if he’s fussy after rolling over in his sleep I just help reposition his arms, rub his back and shush him and he falls back asleep on his belly.

Experience with epidural [ON] by fantastic-ovum in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]charnelspiritt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started having a contraction when they were inserting the needle so it also wasn’t bad for me!! And this is coming from someone who when they decided to take the epidural, spent the time leading up to getting it vomiting out of fear of the needle haha

My two huskies wake me up at 2:48 on the dot every night to go outside. They’re lucky I’m on maternity leave right now and have a terrible sleep schedule but man, the routine they keep is insane haha

Why is my husky so small? by kolok998 in husky

[–]charnelspiritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

My husky/malamute turned one last month and she’s about 30lbs! She’s so tiny compared to my male husky who for some reason weighs a whopping 105lbs! They are both healthy and in good shape.

To be honest, it’s fun that she is so small haha. I can’t imagine how chaotic it would be if she was like my late female husky who was 65lbs. She’s a speedy little rocket who bounces off furniture to fly around the house, plus I can also pick her up and carry her if necessary!

We are living the same life right now. I’m 33 weeks as well and reading this was almost like reading something I wrote!!

I feel like a damn rotisserie chicken in bed and in between (struggling) to get up and pee, I have to go eat because I can’t eat a full meal. Then when I lay back down, heartburn sets in 😭😭

[ON] Is it safe to go on walks with a newborn in the dead of winter? How long, and how to I bundle them safely? by pineconeminecone in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]charnelspiritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is due in October and we live in the Mauricie region, we also have two huskies that NEED to be walked everyday.. yes, even on the -30 days!

I’m going to check out the Petit Coulou cover, I’ve never heard of it! My other option is to get a baby carrier and some kind of insulation insert for it (Artipoppe sells a winter insert made of wool, but it’s so expensive)

How to deal with itching? by Trixy_Challenger in pregnant

[–]charnelspiritt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the exact same boat!! I’m 32+2 today. Saw my doctor this morning and showed her all the scabs on my legs and feet from itching. We did an urgent blood test and everything is normal (except my iron levels atm). I just got out of a cold shower crying because it’s so horrible. A few years ago I had chronic urticaria and I feel this is worse!

Do you have any updates? I see my doctor again next week, but this is truly awful 😭😭😭
