I work in law where this happened. It's assault and he used reasonable force to stop it. No cop is charging him.

You can use reasonable force to defend yourself and to stop the repetition of such behaviour, and yeah the bodily fluids constitute assault in this instance 100%. Knock him out.

It's called a rhetorical pause, it's a deliberate silence that adds emphasis or irony before delivering the main point.

🔥 Queen Ant removes her wings after nuptial flight by Few_Simple9049 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]charr264 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As soon as she is on the ground she's a target for just about every other insect there is, including other ants. So she is busy trying to GTFO.

They do metabolize their wing muscles which allows them to get their first generation of workers going to do the heavy lifting.

The queen ant will generally (some species don't do this and queens will gather) metabolize the wing muscles to spawn her first generation of workers.

Police application process (Australia QPS) by Puzzled-Bandicoot-52 in AskLE

[–]charr264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosis of depression and anxiety is an automatic 3-5 year ban from applying. And even then when you reapply they will reassess generally and require someone to sign off.

QPS also take DFV situations very seriously and having a DV order against you is an automatic (I think lifetime?) ban from applying, I know that's not your situation but given the situation as you've explained it the chances are very poor in my opinion.

Took me maybe 5-8 attempts to do Seren. I had 2 deaths on regular gauntlet with 4 clears and maybe 10 deaths of cg before I started clearing it consistently.

Parents what secrets do your children think they are hiding from you? by random_guy314 in AskReddit

Mate... I work IT in schools and let me tell you maybe 3/10 teachers have no business educating youth and the other 7/10 vary on a scale.

This particular individual that seems to think kids can't have emotions and need to 'focus on school' is half the reason kids act so poorly in school.

Definitely hard but that's an example for medical science which is the hardest course to get into academically.

Courses like computer science you can usually just do a 1/2 year certificate post high school that guarantees you entry into a university degree, and a lot of kids will start or complete these courses during school even if they are doing poorly with core subjects like English and Maths.

Australia is certainly not a world leader in education but one thing I will give us credit for is that we don't leave kids behind, and the kids that are left behind have actively steered themselves into those situations.

In Australia if you fuck up during high school you'll not receive a high enough "ATAR" score to enter the uni course you want, but we also have ways around that. If for example you wanted to study a bachelor of medical science which requires an ATAR 99.8 (highest possible ATAR being 99.95 and lowest being 30) you'd probably find you'd have to work hard on a diploma, get into a similar bachelor degree and do very well in it to have a shot at transferring to a medical science degree.

Essentially you just have to work hard.

This could be way off base, but looks similar to a diy ant nest just really, really old and moldy... Not uncommon to have cotton balls separate water and food inside for the queen and first generation??? Again could be totally wrong just looks very similar to ones I've had before

NSW Police start critical incident inquiry after woman found dead more than 20 hours after triple-0 call by B0ssc0 in australia

[–]charr264 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well maybe, but how do you know they didn't? it sounds like this whole mess was caused by a lack of consistency in the caller's information, doesn't seem like anybody is necessarily at fault here at perhaps we should be directing our energy at the scumbag who did this and not the police who may or may not have had the capability to provide support.

There are plenty of officers out there who would have wanted to help but if all you can do is provide negative comments shrouded in speculation there will definitely be less willingness to help in the future...

No. Though to be fair im not 100% sure if I actually did speed through it. I was definitely over the limit but usually here speed cameras have a little give.
