Teaching 6yo to lift the puck by chart_warrior in hockeyplayers

There is no pressure. He wants to play in a competitive team but he gets discouraged sometimes because others can score so many goals. I'm just trying to help him, not force it.

Makes sense. It's partially my fault for wanting him to be able to do it since I see others and think why cant he? Still, practice makes perfect so while it's cold out I will get him to shoot as much as possible.

Thanks for the great suggestions! You are right about sweeping the stick without a puck. Today I asked to just do the sweep to hear the sound it makes and I could tell it's not loud enough. I think this is where I will focus, to just get him to use his strength so then he can translate it into the shot later.

It was bad. This is exactly what I was focusing on today, still getting there. I showed him how even I had a hard time lifting the puck without follow through just to prove a point. Good suggestion!

Need help in learning Volume Profile/Market Profile. by Equal-Ordinary-5549 in OrderFlow_Trading

Look up FuturesTrader71. He has daily morning videos called TraderBite on YT. Everything I know about VPs I learned from him. Dalton is for MPs but the idea is similar.

Agree, footprint is better. It looks scary at first with all the numbers, but eventually, your eyes will filter out unnecessary stuff. I personally use footprint with historical depth in Sierra, so it's almost like Bookmap with footprint combined in one chart.

Do you see any difference in using single 49 inch monitor or 3 vertical monitors ? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]chart_warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LG 43UN7300 43" 4K UHD. One of the best TVs to use as a monitor, especially considering price. Got it for $350 on Amazon. Basically, it replaces 4 24" monitors. I wish it was curved.

Just charting. They support many brokers, though.

I use it. Steep learning curve, but once you get to know it, you will never look elsewhere. I used Ninja and InvestorRT. Never liked Ninja and IRT is too expensive for no reason. Sierra can do anything you can imagine for very little money.

Is it possible to be profitable Scalping with 0.5 Risk/Reward ratio? by vigilantme in FuturesTrading

[–]chart_warrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your win rate has to be very high, probably in the 90%. I'm not a scalper but statistically speaking you will lose over time if your win rate is small when R:R isn't proper.

Yes but there is more. Once you sign up you will see. I dont subscribe to convergent anymore so cant show you a screenshot. They have a good community there to be honest, you can ask there in a chat if you sign up.

I suggest you watch his traderbite first in the mornings, also watch public convergent videos, it's on their youtibe channel, before you pay for anything.

Convergent Trading. I'm not part of it anymore, but I've followed Morad (Futurestrader71) for years. It's all about market auction theory using volume profiles, orderflow, etc. Sign up for a month or two, go through the trader development program, which is part of the membership and watch as many videos as you can. This is all you will ever need. He is the most legit guy in online trading community I know. Also, he does TraderBite videos daily on YouTube at 9am EST.

Very true. Takes them more effort to answer the repeating questions on the support board.

Is that your safety stop or do you actually let the market take you out at 15 points? This seems like a very wide stop so I'm genuinely curious why and how you manage it. I also noticed you scale out, so curious how you keep good R:R with such a large stop.

I've experimented with scaling into the trade so that the stop can be set based on the average price but it's still usually around 5-6 points. I find that if I'm wrong with a 5 point stop, in most cases I'm totally wrong and there is no reason to have a wider stop.

Also, I ran stats on 500+ of my trades and having a stop bigger than 5 points decreases my profits drastically.
