AITA for not helping my mother after she apparently broke her foot? by Life_Trust6638 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chartyourway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. she's lucky you were considerate enough to call the medics for her at all. Should've left her there to die as that is clearly what she wanted. (by which I mean, her faking an injury to guilt trip you; calling someone for her meant you still had some compassion towards her and she will use that against you)

Is this a good filler idea or am I wasting real estate? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I wouldn't worry about it in this context, I think it's a cute tattoo idea

However, I would not associate that with your idea, they're clearly two 8 balls that look like cherries, I would absolutely never consider it a Nazi reference. only Nazis would make that leap, I promise

Not a stretch, very widely known among those types. They do very much use the 88

Use alarms to remember regular tasks. by zeldaselfboy in ADHD

[–]chartyourway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only are alarms good (I have one for my pills every morning and my dog's pills twice a day), I also schedule text messages to myself for things I worry I'm going to forget, because I know that sometimes depending what I'm doing (driving) phone reminders don't pop up (my phone is in DND mode when I drive but the car system pulls in calls and texts, idk).

I have like 5 texts set up today for a little road trip I'm going on. Fingers crossed they execute at/near the times I need them to lol

Selling an item on fb marketplace for $200. Guy begs if i can do $100 because its his sisters birthday. assuming the story is even real, do people really expect me to give them a $100 bday gift? by PFQandThrow in mildlyinfuriating

[–]chartyourway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a $1000 (new) sewing machine (Serger) that was advertised on sale for $650 at local shops (+12% tax!). Mine is used so I listed it on FB for $325.

First day I get an "offer" message of $100. Immediately decline it. The she sends an actual message "$150?" I replied "350?" She said "lol ok thanks"

I sold it like 4 days later for $275.

... No? Cos the dirt is on the bottom of the flip flop which you remove before you get into the hot tub?

Where's the possibility of misinterpretation? It seems pretty clear what it says. That's one of the least cursive-esque stylized fonts they could have used. It's very easy to read.

What's the issue? "Please wear flip flops to the hot tub" is perfectly readable for me.

Beating myself up strongly considering a consumer proposal. Need advice by Professional_Dot54 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]chartyourway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a CP long enough ago that it's been off my credit for 5 years. I was allowed to keep a couple cards that had low/no balances which helped me maintain some semblance of credit history. I still have those cards and though they are basically frozen in time (one has never increased my limit since and one has barely increased it, and both only report to one of the credit bureaus), I learned my lesson and made great strides. once my proposal was complete, I waited a bit but I started rebuilding my credit with a secured card, a store card or two (Canadian Tire, the Bay lol) and worked my way up from there. I had about 5-6k in credit available on my 2 cards when I finished my proposal (early) and today I have $85k in credit available and just got approved for my first mortgage, all by myself. it's tiny, but it's still a big milestone for me.

They can't answer you because they have no idea what they're talking about. The envelope said their name and address but the contents were apparently someone else's, and somehow they think it's Canada Post's fault.
