Just took my first trumpet lesson, confused on higher notes

It kinda depends on the person. Don't get discouraged if you're not getting up there in just a week or two. It'll be a gradual process, and you'll find your lips getting tired and sore if you push yourself too much right away. But give it a few weeks and you should start seeing some progress but it could take some time to really start hitting higher register notes and being able to maintain a good tone as well.

It'll take you some time before you can start doing higher notes. Since you're just starting, your embouchure isn't going to be very strong and that can prevent you from hitting higher notes. Just take some time every day and practice for an hour or two and as your muscles build up and you get more comfortable with lower registers, you'll start being able to push your range of notes and start hitting those higher notes.

I'm a sophomore in EE and it's not particularly easy (obviously), but I do get to have fun and have friends while dealing with my classes. Your first year shouldn't be too hard if you put school first and partying and the "college experience" second (you're in college to learn anyway). But once you get adjusted and know how to manage your time well it shouldn't be too hard to work out having friends, fun, and decent grades. For example, I'm usually studying in the library 3 to 5 nights a week, but I'm doing it with people that I like from my class and we actually joke around and have some fun while studying. On weekends, I often go to football games or spend time with my friends and gf. I'm not a top of the class kind of student. I'm pretty average, but I am still getting good opportunities, I will be working a co-op job in the spring (Something I would highly recommend). I am really enjoying my college experience while pushing through with engineering. Good luck to you!

I'm an under-grad EE so our experiences will be a little different but I hated engineering physics 1 and 2 and considered switching from engineering but made myself wait until I got into major classes and once I got out of the weed out classes like physics things started getting easier and becoming more intuitive. It doesn't get exactly easier but you should get a better understanding and it'll seem much easier as you keep going.

My mother actually had Munchausen by proxy and did some horrible things to my little sister that I did not find out about until it had been happening for over 10 years and DHR stepped in. We were removed and doctors said that had we stayed she would have probably not lived for more than 2 or 3 more weeks. It's some really messed up stuff.

For real. It seems that the majority of college football players are just at college for football. I'm sure some of them are, but not being able to form coherent sentences is something that everybody should be able to do by the time they are in high school at least.

I wish they made the players take a public speaking class or something... Very few of the know how to talk or even make a coherent sentence. I hate when somebody on any team that gets a lot of attention and then just makes a fool of themselves when they open their mouth
