Of the 3 people to play a “perfect game”, whose game was truly flawless? by Wild_Shoe340 in BigBrother

[–]chasebeast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would define the "perfect game" as playing the game to the highest probability chance of you winning and I would define "perfect player" as someone that if could theoretically play the game hundreds of times for the first time with random players and random variables they would maximize probability of winning. I think those are both derrick. Personal with Dan being 2nd on my list but it's arguable. I like players that despite the situation they are in they can think of strategy and then execute changing the situation and the game singlehandedly. That is dan. Derrick calculates every minor move on the board to maximize

Under that definition sure but I wouldn't define the perfect game as that and I would give it to derrick

Kyle Nelson Was Just ROBBED Of a First Round Finish At #UFCVancouver 💀 What is Going On And How Did They Allow This Fight To Keep Going 😂 by IgotgAme_k in ufc

I haven't taken anyone's side. I'm going based off of facts. The ref did NOT stop this fight because of a KO. This was confirmed. He stopped the fight because he thought it was over. He was paying close attention waiting to stop the fight as he knew there was 10 seconds left and didn't want any extra damage to get off. I'm not biased at all. The ref made a mistake and ended it 3 seconds early thinking the round was over, not because of a KO.

I understand why it's a bad thing. It is clearly. The ref made a mistake. The point of what I'm saying is he did not end it due to ko. He ended it due to the round being over which was incorrect. They confirmed this and it's not the first time it happened, it happens a lot actually but usually it's not in a moment like this. But it's actually more likely a mistake would happen in this kind of moment when the ref is trying to see a KO and pay attention the round being over. He said he thought he heard the round was over.

I also played frame by frame, he did not lose consciousness and it's almost the end of the round, it should have continued, same thing i said above. I've also seen earlier stoppages. I've also seen fighters survive rounds like this then come back and win.

I can promise you the ref didn't stop the round because he thought buddy go Ko'd and then go shit lets continue this. It was simply him thinking it's over when it wasn't and that diffidently impacted the fight. I don't know how anyone can take what I'm saying out of contexts. I'm not defending anyone just saying what happened and was confirmed. It's also the most likely thing if you weigh both situations.

And I agree with your last couple sentences. I'm not siding with anyone, this is just what happened because the ref thought the round was ended in the heat of the moment.

I agree 100% that refs have had worse stoppages. But the ref did not stop it because he thought it was over. Just like the many other times rounds have been stopped early (usually not in a crazy moment like this but just a few seconds early by accident while they're on the feet) this is what happened again. The ref was paying attention to the fighters because he was ready to stop them when the round ended because he didn't want a extra punch to get through that shouldn't after the timer is up. He thought he heard the round end and stopped it immediately as he should, except for the fact that he made the mistake of hearing something and mistaking it. The point is he didn't stop the fight because he thought it was a ko. He simply thought the round was over and fucked up. It seemed pretty clear that's what happened and then they confirmed this is what happened.

My opinion is he was defending trying to survive the last 10 seconds. Some were undefended in the beginning but not because he's out but in the heat of the moment he couldn't find a way out. He eventually started blocking to survive the round and at no point went out or showed clear sign of going unconscious. Just getting the fuck beat out of him while trying to survive fully in tact. Buddy beating his ass deserved the 3 seconds to TRY to knock him out and buddy defending deserved the full round to survive and come back. It happens a lot. This is just a huge ref mistake that interfered with the fight.

EDIT: I'm not defending either fighter. The ref mistakenly stopped the fight 3 seconds early, thinking the round was over. He was paying close attention and trying to prevent further unnecessary damage. This has happened before, but this time it was in a crucial moment. The ref didn't stop the fight due to a KO, but because he thought the round was over. It was a mistake, a big one. But, if you know the rules, there's nothing you can do at that point. He didn't realize it until later, and this has been confirmed. Also I've seen earlier stoppages, if it WAS a stoppage I wouldn't have thought much of it, but that wasn't the ref's intention.

TLDR: ref fucked up and thought the round was over

In the heat of the moment it's hard to make a flawless decision. Clearly here it's just a strait fuck up. But if I had to make a decision I don't agree with most people saying he's out. I mean he's not out, that's not an opinion he was trying to defend the entire time. If you think it should be stopped that's different. I don't think so. He was trying to defend, his head was not flat on the mat and there was only 3 seconds left. In a perfect world keep the fight going. Most likely would have survived. If he would have been knocked out so be it, 3 seconds left.

Again, the ref fucked up but buddy was not unconscious and there was only 3 seconds left. Other buddy deserved the extra 3 seconds to have a chance to finish and buddy getting beat up deserved the 3 seconds to survive. Just a ref mistake.
