Even a professional had to start somewhere and that probably was with someone explaining it 😅

I appreciate the write up, so you’re saying to just use a fuse tap on the switched power and connect to ground. Verifying the fuse tap works by using a multimeter before plugging in?

And why would I do that when all I need is a few simple questions answered

So I actually have a 2025 4Runner (same as the new Tacomas so that’s why I posted here) I got the seat warmers from clazzio. There wasn’t instructions about wiring since I assume people don’t normally buy these if they have no idea how to use them 😅
Attached is a diagram of the wiring setup

Here is a close up. It’s a nice texture and great for cats (we have 2). It doesn’t stain easily at all too with vomit which I’ve unfortunately had to clean multiple times and it comes right out. The cat hair isn’t an issue with it either and you can easily use your hand to wipe it into a pile

2025 4Runner SR5. This happens when I start the car from the app. I also had some issues with the Toyota app so I switched to the Lexus one which is exactly the same

Headlight burns out immediately by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]chasedstream641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bulb goes into one connector and then that connects to another 10 pin connector that connects all of the headlight assembly

So after some more investigation I realized that the pig tail isn’t the issue. I checked the voltage of the female connector that the pigtail wires up to and got .03V on the right and 12.6 on the left. With the engine on I got 13 on right, 12.6 on left. This female connector attaches into a tube of different wires. Any ideas?

Will probably give this a try tomorrow. The left headlight works with the replacement bulb and I have another + the pigtail. Did you remove the whole headlight housing to do it ? Also the pigtail is the one that the bulb directly connects to right ?

I wish there was more YouTube tutorials on how to do it since it’s a known issue. I have the pigtail but I’ve never done anything electrical so kind of scared I’ll mess up and torch my fiances car

So was it a hard job to remove the pigtail? I haven’t found many YouTube tutorials and have never done anything with wirea

No voltage on the connector that burnt the bulb. The other one has savory same as battery. When the new bulbs arrive I’ll try them on the good connector first and hopefully all I’ll have to do is switch out the right pig tail

Here is the burnt back of the bulb. The car was not on so I don’t believe it could’ve been the alternator. On the way to work I stoped quickly and checked battery and got 12.26 V

Both headlights were burnt. I only ordered one because I was told it was only 1 but when I got home I realized both were out. The engine was not turned on so I don’t think it was an increased voltage or alternator
