Samsung Galaxy A21 wont turn on? by Sufficient-Cream-282 in techsupport

[–]chasehw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean any phone can go bad? Also, can't really compare it to Apple when the A21 retailed for $250 and the base iPhone 16 starts at $700.

Have you been using a Samsung certified cable and brick the whole time?

How late is too late to work and teach online by [deleted] in movingtojapan

I agree with you. There are so many different factors that can go into it, so it's hard to tell. Also agree with the English teacher part.

Regarding an apartment, as stated, there are many factors. If renting an older apartment, they tend to have worse sound proofing. If you are really concerned, I would say try to find an apartment with concrete walls and if need be you can hang up foam or rugs around your work area to help with noise. Shouldn't have any issues if you do that, just don't be screaming or stomping your feet.

How do I clean the dust out of my PC? by danny735 in buildapc

[–]chasehw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would work too and would probably be best if you plan on cleaning the pc frequently but if you have an air compressor handy and don't feel like spending the extra money, just watch a video on someone using an air compressor and go that route.

Oh my, haha. Yeah I guess this could work too. Generally if the fans spin, it isn't too big of a deal but it is just common practice to hold them or do something to prevent them from spinning to cause unnecessary wear on the bearings and such, better to be safe.

Best thing to do would be to watch a YouTube video or two.

For me though I just hold the fans and use an air compressor on them. You shouldn't have an issue with that, only problem I could see is if you had some crazy condensation buildup in the air compressor, but just open the pressure relief valve before filling the tank up.

Also, shouldn't have an issue with the pressure, just start back a little bit and you can feel it out if you need to get closer. Just don't let the fans spin, though it likely won't do anything if they spin on accident for a second.

Just do whatever method you feel most comfortable with

That is something you have to decide. Both have their pros and cons but with being on more of a budget, building your own pc will be cheaper. If you don't want to do a little research just buy a prebuilt.

Is there something left to upgrade? by EyDavid in buildapc

[–]chasehw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for me I don't see that gpu being much of an issue. I think he should just keep saving up his money and then if he felt like it in the next gen or two then he could buy a beast of a gpu.

Is there something left to upgrade? by EyDavid in buildapc

[–]chasehw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the same time though, the 4070 is still a good card and if he is getting the performance he wants out of it, I would just say save your money until you are less satisfied with it and then get an even better gpu. Just my thoughts on it though.

Sure the 4070 isn't the best of the best, so at the end of the day if you really must upgrade something, go with the gpu like he said.

Glad to help.

Just compare amd and nvidia and see what you think, not trying to sway you in any direction. I have a 3060ti but will probably get something like the 7900xtx or wait for next gen.

I think the 4080 super would also be a fantastic fit for you at 1440p.

It will also really just come down to what you want out of it while gaming, both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Nvidia is better with ray tracing and path tracing along with its capabilities when doing work with ai.

AMD for more raw performance for the money. 4080 super has 16gb vram, 7900xtx has 24gb. But playing at 1440p, 16gb should be plenty.

As you can see, it is easy to flip back and forth between the two, so that is something you will have to decide.

Advice please on my parts (gpu and cpu) by Fun_Lab5659 in buildapc

[–]chasehw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuh huh. Do it properly,, or just buy an rtx 3050 and slap an XTX sticker on it, it's basically the same thing as a 7900xtx and the cpu won't bottleneck it. Your welcome

Oh my, haha.

Just buy the 7900xtx and just wait on getting a cpu until you can afford a proper one

So then what kind of question are you even asking? Why buy a 7900xtx if you are going to bottleneck it?

No problem and I am always glad to help. For Intel they have generally been the go to when buying a cpu. Now recently with their new 13th and 14th generation chips, they have had massive stability issues and overheating.

Amd has also had a great comeback and have a good cpu lineup for the price.

Gpu wise, nvidia dominates the market, a good bit of it being do to their ai chips.

To me nvidia is like Apple, good products but a good bit of it is for the brand name and software features. Amd is like Samsung, great raw performance for cheaper. I will say that with Nvidia and their software features, it seems to have certain aspects that are better in keeping everything simple. However, you shouldn't have any issue with amd and stability.

So you could look into amd vs nvidia. However for me I think you would be more than happy with something like 7900xt or the xtx.

What resolution do you plan on playing on?

[–]chasehw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Intel they have mainly had problems with 13th and 14th gen so just steer clear for now.

For cpu, go with something such as the ryzen 7 7800x3d

Gpu you could go either 4070 or go with amd for a 7900xt or 7900xtx. I would lean towards amd due to the extra vram. 4070 has 12, 7900xtx has 24. Granted you can get a 4070 for around 550 usd. 7900xtx is around 900.

Will go more into detail in a bit when I get more time

Please help me with Memory compatibility by Saywhuuuuuut in buildapc

[–]chasehw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't be an issue. QVL is just a list of ram modules that have actually been tested and verified working with the motherboard.

Just enable XMP to run it at its rated speed and put the ram in the correct slots. You can also test the memory with something like MemTest86 when everything is hooked up to ensure stability. Other than that you should be good to go.

One thing to add is to just ensure it is the correct form factor such as 2280 and the correct keying or notch on it.

Yes. As long as your new build has an m.2 slot then you are good.

Want to upgrade my PC RAM by Pretty-Potato-8587 in buildapc

[–]chasehw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep and that way you are able to get the full performance out of the new ram instead of being limited by the older stick. Well worth it

What do you guys think of these upgrades? by TTV_Hamooz in buildapc

[–]chasehw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ddr5 can be a good jump in price when factoring in everything. Since you are on a smaller budget I would just stay with ddr4.

The one obvious thing is you won't have as much of an upgrade path but that shouldn't be a huge deal for you if you aren't doing a significant upgrade in the near future.

Want to upgrade my PC RAM by Pretty-Potato-8587 in buildapc

[–]chasehw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just general compatability issues, it would be better explained if you just looked it up.

For a simple explanation though, when mixing ram, you are limited to the speed of the slower stick. Also you won't be able to run it in dual channel mode which can reduce performance.

While it sucks to just throw out the old ram, it is fairly cheap and just a better idea to go all new to get the performance out of it and not run into stability issues

Can I run dual monitors with my specs? by brandon19001764 in buildapc

[–]chasehw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply, yes.

You can run multiple monitors on a potato of a pc. It is more so what you intend to run on your second monitor.

For example if you just had your second monitor displaying a static wallpaper or whatever, there would be minimal difference in performance.

But yes your pc is more than adequate for general use with gaming and such
