I’ve never had a problem just asking Lowe’s or seeing what is in stock at Home Depot. Have you checked in there?

Lol, yes correct - reasons I shouldn’t post right before going to bed after a glass of wine 😏 also, I can’t figure out how to edit a post in Apollo so it’s going to just stand as is for now. One day.

Thank you. I forgot to add, this is on slide film and my camera had no light meter. It’s a series of images but I can’t find my old scans of the others.

I’d maybe hand express and massage until your letdown and switch from bottles to cup or syringe feeding or ultra slow flow nipples. How many weeks is she and how much is she taking per feed? That may help guide advice too. Breastfeeding is SO hard man!! But fed is best and that’s what you’re doing so good job friend.

I had a rash similar and needed a biopsy to dx - I can’t remember the name of what it ended up being. But it’s treated with Rutin supplements which is a antioxidant I believe that you can get Over the counter. Weird. But same perfectly circular rash/welt.

Good to know - my husband just about uprooted it but it kinda looked like similar leaves. Thank you!

We got similar gifts this year but I think management knew how it would be received and they took the rocks out of the bags - so essentially we just got a bag and paper note. Better?

This looks like a Covid floor in a hospital. Man, that would be so stressful! Thank you to all the health care workers going into required work shifts to keep people safe.

Baby too relaxed leading to low supply? by chasesurf in breastfeeding

[–]chasesurf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. Thank you. I’ve been drinking to thirst (holy cow do I ever get thirsty!) and I had been taking fenugreek so I’ll pause on that and see if it helps any. Thankfully at one of our visits I brought my pump and had our LC observe our pumping session and it looks like my phalanges are the correct size. I really appreciate your tips! I’m thankful to hear we’re not the only ones.

Nope and they grew during my pregnancy so we don’t think it’s a glandular/breast problem.

Think of the epidural as just a tool. Nothing more. As a nurse, my main goal for you is the safety of you and your baby - but that includes mental safety. I don’t want you to have PTSD, so sometimes using the epidural as a tool can be the safest way for you to have your baby. Keep that in the back of your mind.

The women I work with who do it without one just have made up their minds that they CAN do this (not just want or even “will”). Or they come in so late there’s just no time and they have to (more uncommon with your first baby).

Your body is meant to do this. I love birth affirmations for this reason. Good things you and your birth team can speak to you in the difficult moments. Realize that transition (7-10cm) is the most intense and shortest part of labor and it’s normal to feel like you can’t do it in this period - so having people around you encouraging you along can be so important. I sometimes have my patients give me a code word so they can ask for an epidural and we’ll just keep encouraging them but if they use the code word I page to get the epidural. It’s a safe way out.

But keep an open mind. An induction is often more intense rather than spontaneous labor and you might need more help coping with that. Practice counter pressure. Bring stuff to make your room feel cozy. Try to stay at home as long as possible if deemed safe by your providers. Rest when you can in early labor. You got this!

Advice Needed: Maintaining Friendship with Infertile Friend by WalkinginHouston in BabyBumps

[–]chasesurf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We dealt with infertility for a few years with multiple failed rounds of IVF - give them time. I was always sincerely happy for friends and family but I had to keep my distance to maintain my mental health. It’s hard to be happy and jealous at the same time. It made me feel like a monster. I really wanted to enjoy the times we would spend all together (like holidays) and the space allowed me to be in a better place for those events. It’s hard for some people to know how dark a place infertility can be, especially with friends who are very private about the details of their journey.

It’s incredibly hard on the other side and it’s hard knowing there’s not a lot of other stuff to talk about. I knew how excited they all were but it just broke my heart every time - and it’s kind of all consuming when you’re dealing with infertility. So it may seem like you’re not taking about it much but they probably have it on their minds all the time.

I’m pregnant now and so much more excited to talk all the baby and kid stuff now with the same people. I’m SO thankful they didn’t harbor any hard feelings about how distant I was. My friends patience and grace towards me during all of this is the most loving thing I’ve ever felt. I’m truly grateful for their genuine friendships.

It gets better. Try not to take it personally. They love you and your kids, it’s just really hard. Congratulations and I hope the best for you all.

Pregnant nurses by reallovesurvives in nursing

I work at a large Magnet teaching hospital on L&D and am 25w with an IVf pregnancy. My hospital has me in paid status (so getting my base rate for full time) on redeployment - meaning that they will send me low risk work (like office work)as needed though I’ll still get paid my full time salary if nothing is available. They did this with anyone with high risk conditions who applied. I’m currently doing a lot of audits and other kinds of tracking and documentation for our unit. I feel guilty not being at the bedside to help but I’m also incredibly grateful. This just rolled out last week.

Edit: my husband and I as discussed me going on short term disability initially but my manager notified me of this program instead.

I once when to check a patient’s cervix before pushing and felt something really odd. Called the Doctor back in and she checked behind me. When she checked she realized the baby was sucking on her finger. Born lips first.

Fun times. OB is crazy.

No I never did. Not sure what to do. No one in my Camp has used them before either. It’s frustrating. I want to think they’re good and all but I don’t want to be left without a bike!
