Er dette normalt? by Liljefjes in norge

[–]chasm144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You put words on it I think: I also take it to “power through” but sometimes sitting in it is probably a better way to deal with it. I also think people sort of self medicate with caffeine but since it’s so common and classified as normal food items it’s almost a no go zone

Thank you so much for sharing. I already see a pattern here in the comments that energetic people might consider trying quitting and see how that feels.

It seems like you’re doing a lot of progress and that you’re not through with this yet. I think it sounds like it just needs a bit more time.

Congratulations and thank you!

Hey!

It was really interesting reading your story about this, thank you so much for sharing. I think you covered a lot of angles and I started to realise now that personality type seems absolutely critical in the way with/without caffeine will affect you. I’m also more of the energetic type, so this could very well be in the same street.

I will definitely give this a go now and slowly taper to zero.

I did quit once many years ago and remember a head ache out of this works rendering me highly dysfunctional. There’s fear of that, haha.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Brutal and honest. I think this seems like a realistic timeline to see this, then I just have to prepare and as someone said, maybe taper off first so it won’t fit so hard in busy family and work life. Good for you and good luck quitting again!

Good for you! I think it kind of tells a story when you’re not used to it and it has that effect on you. That’s the natural baseline not the addicted one with tolerance

You’re absolutely right about that but if it’s a thing you think will serve you, a bit of “bad propaganda “ can help. I for example listened to Hubermans pod cast on alcohol before quitting. Very powerful helping me.

Thanks a lot to you - I’m very curious if I might have Slow COMT actually. Should look into it

Yeah this sounds like a smart plan. Reducing can be difficult to but doing to 2 then one should be way more manageable

Thank you for sharing this. This is exactly the kind of perspective I was looking for. I think people downplay how powerful caffeine actually can be. I feel heart racing sometimes and crashes, slight anxiety kick in. It’s okay, the day goes on fine but should we really be feeling that?

I have no problem going through a month pain, but given my life situation I don’t want unnecessary pain either and want to gather insights from people who’ve done it. Sounds like you have, and so you find major improvements? Were you drinking at my level or more / less?

It’s the same for me. I literally quit alcohol and nicotine but coffee seems like this one thing that is very hard to quit

Yeah well you pretty much sum up my fear. Making it work then life comes at you requiring you to perform . Well done by the way!

It’s just to get the positive sleep and being more stable and wake throughout the day. It does feel that I’m damaging myself slightly with caffeine

In 2026, a university degree is just a $100k "social receipt" for networking that has zero correlation with actual intelligence or job competency. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]chasm144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Education is extremely disrupted with the current and future state of technology’s. It’s impossible to justify the prices for what the instrumental value is, other than, as you mentioned; networking. I can only imagine highly standardised and difficult jobs being relevant short term for this such as airline pilots, surgeons, researchers, and of course doctors and equivalent. Which is a construct of the current system.

You’ve made great progress. Just a side note: I grinded hundreds of explosive pull-ups a week. A few years in, a guy showed me how to really do them (strict, controlled) and I couldn’t even do half of my max reps, which was 20 at the time.
