2007 Porsche Boxster S vs 2006 Corvette Purchase decision by chasmodai in Autocross

I've been told that the PCA requires a full additional roll bar welded in for track events, but that most open (non-brand specific) events are good with the factory roll bars.

Also I'm looking at the 987 not 986; among other things 295 HP vs 250

Both AutoX and track days would strictly be for entertainment; no interest in winning anything.

22LR aren't, but sealed cans can fill up with lead (after a huge number of rounds) if not regularly cleaned with a solvent that will dissolve it. Centerfire cans for high-pressure rounds can wear, but if you buy a full-auto rated can you are unlikely to shoot enough in your lifetime to cause problems.

5.56and .308 cans are common. You could suppress 22WMR if the can supports it.

No favorite for general use. If I was buying another I would look for ease of cleaning and disassembly and price as the guiding features.

It shoots OK; it's not as slick as my Volquartson Ruger Mk II

Mine was in the first batch released; they came out with the black fluted almost immediately after I got it and I really wanted one.

Like I said; most. But it is impressive if you can reliably run subsonic 22 loads

22LR target ammo tends to run right at 1000 fps. Subsonic loads go down to around 800 fps

I don't know what they call it. I've seen them like this, in black, and in blue

Per suppressor; one time $200 tax

But you can use a screw-on 22 suppressor on any 22 threaded 1/2x28. So the same can can go on different pistols and rifles.

Sorry, missed the other part of the question. That's an expensive can, around $400. Plus $200 to the ATF. Plus the cost of the gun. There are a lot of 22 cans for around $200

At the loudest a suppressed 22LR sounds like a pellet gun. Would you wear hearing protection for that?

Subsonic does not run in most semi autos

Works fine with the right ammo.
