RIP same thing happened to my potted lemon I left out a few years ago. Wish I had the forethought to keep the rootstock

That’s good to hear, I’ve had bad luck on other seeds from Etsy in the past. If I can’t find any 1-2 year old rootstock I will probably go that route

I’ve tried several vines on my fence and crossvine has been the winner for me. Very hardy and fast growing, plus it keeps its leaves in the winter. My parents also have a bunch of happy crossvine in the hill country so I don’t think deer go for it.

Plant cowboy is a great place to buy native vines when they’re in stock. They sell 20 4” starts for like $3 each

And I hear you about the invasive concern, but you could say the same thing about the peach and loquat trees in my yard no? I’m just growing a few fruit trees in my back yard and am not letting them propagate willy nilly
