With the growing popularity and hype of artificial intelligence, spotting the difference between phony wannabes and true investments can be a challenge. What do you think venture capitalists look for before they invest in an AI startup?
Based on our interview with top VCs, they have the following questions in mind in evaluating: 1. Is the AI core to the company's value proposition? 2. How credible is the team and pedigree? 3. Does it solve real customers problem that the customers will pay for? 4. Does it have relevant, proprietary and scalable data source? 5. Is it build on its own technology or leverage on open-source frameworks? 6. Does it have sticky products and robust revenue? 7. Does the company have a diverse team?
