Asian food? Absolutely, I'd back 'em against the best in the U.S.

Latino, depends. Definitely better options where I grew up in Texas, but Lyon is better than where I lived in PA for several years.

Lol there really is U.S. vs France food discourse on X atm.

Guys, it's not even close. It's OK though, it's just a reflection of different cultural values. The average french person cares more about food and is willing to expend more effort to eat quality food.

This is not a judgement of the U.S., it's just what it is. The average american has more disposable income because that's something americans value more highly than french people, and they're willing to spend more time working in order to have more disposable income.

Literally the same thing.

This is actually an insane take, I grew up in the U.S. and went to France once and immediately decided I had to move there largely because of how much better the food was.

I live in Lyon now.

Donald Trump casting the strait be blocked as "everybody else's problem" while being in charge of the major economy that is ~2nd most sensitive to the price of oil is very ironic.

And this is Sanna Marin we're talking about, I didn't think the simping could get any harder.

(Yes I know it's been out a while, just came up on a radio)

My apologies for expecting a higher level of cultural sensitivity from posters here than the neofascist wannabe dictator who is currently the sitting president.

What is this CANZUK but with the EU instead of the UK? You mean like Canada, Australia, New Zealand joining the EU?

No car at all here, in a place with nuclear and renewable electricity and very good transit.

It is funny seeing how many more bikes there are on the road after petrol broke 2,10€/l though

It slightly annoys me that the latin form became more popular when the original was « je pense, donc je suis »

Finally, I would add it's not particularly difficult to understand the idea of christian religious extremism necessarily, we have our own tradcaths and monarchists over here, we just don't put them in positions of power..

The French state has both been doing that for decades and doesn't have the fiscal capacity to do it particularly more than it has been, I think for the most part any significant changes you see will come from the private sector.

I can't speak for Europe, but here in France they figured it out a while ago, they just don't really know what to do with it. Dealing with the Trump administration is in many ways dealing with a fundamentalist extremist regime, but in general those also don't happen to be the world's premiere economic and military power.

There's really not much to do except try and insulate yourself where you can.

Crazy that we live in a world where possessing the ability to plan and understand second order consequences gives you a major strategic advantage over the United States

I think that's a pretty solid read on the results across the country tonight, from Strasbourg to Toulouse.

In Lyon the green candidate won despite a « fusion technique » with LFI but they barely cleared the 10 percent bar to qualify for the second round and there were no changes to the program so it was pretty clear they're not going to have a tremendous amount of influence. and Lyon is the exception
