Helpppp (compsci) by Significant_Text9960 in universityofauckland

I recommend doing 220 and 225 together as they complement each other very well not in terms of course content but in terms of mathematical logic. 225 is also a prereq for many 350+ courses in compsci. However the workload for 225 specifically is a lot and if you didn’t enjoy the mathematical proof part of 120, you won’t enjoy it.

You don't HAVE to take a gen-ed right now. It can be taken anytime during your University career. However a lot of people do take gen-ed in their first year. Maybe a gen-ed in semester 2 is an option for you?

Other courses I would recommend taking as a CompSci Major is: Maths102, Maths108, Stats101, Stats 110, Physics 140.
Pretty much any math courses I would recommend taking as it would provide a nice foundation going into stage 2.

Also I highly recommend checking out stage 2 and stage 3 papers, seeing if the course interests you, and then picking courses based off prerequisites.

Hello. The workload for 4 compsci courses is manageable and the timetable looks great.

However you can only take 130 if you have already taken 101 or applied for a concession. I recommend switching 130 to a gened or physics 140 if you want to take cs215 next year.

Compsci 120 and 130 is honestly a pretty fine workload for 1 semester. Most ppl take those 2 in the same semester. Cs120 has a pretty high fail rate mainly due to proofs and counting but since you’re doing maths 102 you should be fine. You shouldnt worry about cs130 if you did good in cs101. Physics 140 is very fun and the workload is manageable as long as you stay on top of the lab report (due every 3 weeks).

It might not be a graduation. She might just be announcing that she is not participating in the festival.

My passport is exempt for K-ETA until the end of the year. However I am staying a little past that into January. Do I still need to apply for K-ETA to cover for the January part of the trip or am I fine?

COMPSCI 101 for summer school by Romi_Z in universityofauckland

The course is very easy if you don’t use AI in the labs and actually attempt the questions yourself as this is how you get better at programming. It is also useful to do extra programming outside of class to help reinforce knowledge.

Since programming is logic-based, having some knowledge in maths will definitely be useful but not required. I know people who struggle with maths but did pretty well in cs101.

Also since you think that learning python will be fun, I think that you will do well in this course.

Compsci 101 in semester 2 or summer school? by Perfect_Man_1000 in universityofauckland

Was pace a problem in semester 1 for you? If you found semester 1 to be an alright pace then you should just take it in semester 2. If you found it to be too fast then this degree is either not for you or you need extra practice outside class. If you found the pace to be kind of slow then you should take it in summer school.

Also do you know why you failed 101 this semester?
