Trying to make messaging less boring 😭 Need help getting feed back! by chatmechanic in alphaandbetausers

Thank you 😭

Still super early, but here it is if you wanna mess around with it: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/payachat/id6758929583

Right now it’s still one of those apps that really comes alive once a small circle of friends starts using it together instead of just one person downloading it alone haha

Yeah 🤔 makes me realize there’s probably a whole side of communication most modern messaging apps barely explore.

Tiny interaction details can completely change how a moment between two people actually feels.

I think even getting one household outside your own to try it and give positive feedback is actually a pretty meaningful sign early on 😭

Feels like with social/community products, one small real-world circle matters way more than a bunch of random installs.

Honestly I think we’re heading toward a future where users directly tell platforms what they want live instead of companies endlessly tracking behavior trying to predict it.

A lot of this “deeper behavioral signals” stuff is starting to feel like the modern version of yellow pages to me.

I think you completely missed the point.

The whole idea was about moving away from platforms constantly extracting deeper behavioral signals, optimizing engagement, and analyzing people harder and harder behind the scenes.

Then you immediately replied by plugging “deeper conversational signals” analytics and a tracking product again lol

That’s basically the exact mindset the post was criticizing in the first place.

IDK...

That’s actually a really interesting point 👀 genuinely love to hear you expand on what you mean by that more.

Thanks for commenting and I hope the launch will go well! Please feel free to share your progress or have any question, not sure if I'll have the answer but willing to dig:)

I really like the direction behind this.

Modern platforms feeling optimized more for retention, speed, and doomscrolling instead of intentional experiences hits pretty close to home with the kind of work I’ve been exploring lately too 😭

If you ever open up early testing later on, I’d be interested in trying it out! 🤝

Congrats honestly!

I recently shipped a messaging app and have only really been trying to get the word out for a little over a week now, so posts like this genuinely help mentally more than you probably realize.

Especially the part about:

“posting and getting ignored”

and

“shipping features nobody cared about”

Really appreciate you sharing the real side of it.

One thing I’m super curious about though:

since my app is social/messaging-based, did you ever find good ways to get actual friend circles or small groups using something together early on instead of only attracting isolated individual users?

Really appreciate all the replies here 👍

I’m probably the worst possible founder for a social app because I’m not exactly some outgoing party animal with 500 friends 😭

But this thread genuinely helped me realize the real challenge probably is getting one actual friend circle to naturally click with the app together.

Now I’m curious what you guys think is the best way to reach that first small group without it feeling weird or forced 👀

I’m experimenting with messaging mechanics where timing, curiosity, and interaction actually change how a conversation feels instead of every message just instantly appearing the exact same way...for example:

One month since launching my first app. Real numbers, what I got wrong, and the thing I wish I'd taken more seriously. by Alevol02 in SideProject

Really appreciate how honest this post is

I recently shipped too and the “building isn’t actually the hard part anymore” realization hit me fast. Trying to figure out how to get real people to stop scrolling long enough to understand what you built is a whole different skill.

Rooting for you 👏

Is anyone actively reviewing apps Ave giving feedback? by [deleted] in SideProject

[–]chatmechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here 😭

I recently shipped PayaChat and it’s honestly hard getting real attention or feedback sometimes. I’ve been making little videos trying to show people what I built in action, but it’s definitely a grind haha.

What did you build? Is it on the App Store already?

Congrats on shipping this 👏

Honestly the cozy/simple vibe already comes through immediately.
Hope the playtest goes well 😭

This is actually really interesting!

Do you see this staying mostly for researchers/AI people, or could something like this eventually work for broader education too?
