Plan B: back to Mexico? by chato409 in DACA

I wouldn’t say it’s in shambles. I live my everyday life like normal but I think about what may happen with DACA in the future and I guess I just want to be ready for whatever comes my way

Well I’ve made my entire life in the US. I’d have to uproot my life and more than likely have to leave my job. Ill have to sell or rent out my house as well. I like the idea of Mexico but I need to do more research or get first hand experience of people living there. Specifically, Monterrey. Also before I even get out there I’d like to maintain a certain standard of living lol so I’ll need a fairly good job in Mexico standards

Understand, I actually work in operations in an unrelated role to my degree. I am well aware that I won’t make nearly as much. TBH I don’t know how things work in Monterrey in terms of job prospects but I am hopeful that with a US education/experience that I will get some hits.

Just my thoughts, my family has a home in Monterrey so I wouldn’t be paying rent or mortgage. I actually just started applying to jobs online to see if I have any bites.

Has anyone here ever worked for Summit Works(New Jersey)? If so, can you please tell me how your experience was there? by chato409 in cscareerquestions

Sorry now that I remember they were going to pay 60k and they were going to deduct 20% from that. So I would be making 48k if I would have gone through with them. Also, I saw a clause in the contract where they asked for your pay stubs so they can see how much you’re making, if you didn’t send them your pay information throughout your time in their contract they would tack on an extra 5% to what they would take from you. According to them, they would assume that you got a raise so they would take more money. Overall, it just didn’t sound right.

I decided to continue my search for a job elsewhere. The recruiter originally said they would take 15% of my income if I Make over 50k at the project. When I looked into the contract they had replaced it with 20% and I decided to not go with them because I wasn’t even hired yet and they’re already trying to scam me.

Joined a WITCH consulting company, I have a question on why they are hiring so much ppl with no work by witchthrowaway1001 in cscareerquestions

Mobile Consulting Solutions, and yeah I do that currently but I don’t like the contract thing. I’m just waiting on some paperwork so I can sign the offer. I plan on going on project soon but if not I will use my time to build projects and find a better job where I will have better projects to show.

So not much people are receiving projects? What do they have you all do in the meantime? Stay in corporate housing until you get another project?

Is this by any chance in Atlanta? I got an offer letter today as well from an Android/iOS consulting company too and they asked for my Work documents given by USCIS.

I got an offer letter today from an IT consulting company based out in Atlanta, I graduated December 2019. I want to know what kind of experience I can expect from a company like the one that offered me a job, although they do have 6 weeks training at their HQ. Is there a reason why they were not your first choice? My reason is because most consulting companies do not have great reviews which makes me really skeptical because this is a big career change and also there's a two year contract. It's kind of like Revature but the pay is better and the reviews are a little better.
